Automotive Ford is tastefully modifying their vehicles in a way to add an unfound sporty appeal, and so far, things are working well. Ford has now shared the Lobo version of their compact Maverick truck with the new Ford F-150, and I like what I have here in my driveway. The new Ford F-150 Lobo embodies some of that throwback sports appeal that we found in tricked-out trucks, but not to the extreme that we’re used to, because this truck is still true to its factory form and plays down the fancy equipment to keep pricing reasonable. The…

Xiaomi Auto, the automotive unit of Xiaomi (HKEX: 1810), secured more than 70,000 locked-in orders for its Sky Nomad lineup in the first 30 days after launch, providing fresh demand support as the company seeks to expand…
‘The products aren’t the business,’ its CEO said. Teenage Engineering Teenage Engineering, the company famous for its synths, is going to stop making… synths, CEO Jesper Kouthoofd told High Snobiety. Since most of its products are music or audio devices, that means the company may cease to be a product manufacturing firm. It will then possibly focus on design, though Kouthoofd wasn’t clear about that in his comments. The article states: Kouthoofd tells me that, as part of a reorganization last fall, he announced to his team he is planning to stop making synthesizers altogether. The OP-1 is…

It started with a single horseless carriage and a meter ticking away on the streets of Stuttgart. In 1897, Gottlieb Daimler’s Victoria became the world’s first taxi, fitted with the world’s first taximeter to measure time and distance traveled. Its top speed was a modest 11 mph — barely faster than a brisk jog — but it was enough to spark an industry. The well-heeled novelty-seekers of Stuttgart could hardly have imagined what would follow. Two decades later, the more affordable Ford Model T democratized the taxi trade, turning it into a genuine transport alternative for people from all walks…

A common misconception I’ve seen with Googlebooks is that the Quick Insert and Google logo keys are new. They’re not, as they first debuted a couple of years ago on some Chromebooks. But there is something new for Googlebooks that’s ripped straight from Android phones circa 2014.On every Googlebook keyboard, the F1, F2, and F3 keys are the old triangle, circle, and square navigation icons that first debuted on Android 5.0 Lollipop. These were the back, home, and app switcher buttons long before everything went to gesture-based navigation, and they’re still built into phones on Android 17 as an alternative.…
Automotive BMW is wasting little time turning up the heat on its new Neue Klasse EV lineup. The 2027 BMW iX3 M60 xDrive arrives as the most performance-focused version of the electric SUV so far, bringing 603 horsepower, 645 lb-ft of torque and standard all-wheel drive. It is not a full-fledged M model, but with enough power to reach 62 mph in a claimed 3.9 seconds, the iX3 M60 is clearly meant to offer more than just a sportier badge and a few cosmetic upgrades. The extra performance comes primarily from an upgraded rear electric motor. BMW has…
