- The electric shooting brake made its public appearance at the Sydney EV show and will enter Australia as the Zeekr 7GT.
- The 007 GT is already available in 16 European countries, with the planned Australian launch set to expand its overseas footprint.
Zeekr, the premium brand of Geely Auto (HKEX: 0175), plans to officially launch its 007 GT electric shooting brake in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2026, further expanding the model’s overseas presence.
Zeekr announced the plan on its official Weibo account on Thursday, saying the 007 GT had made its first public appearance at the Sydney EV show in Australia. The model is known as the Zeekr 7GT in overseas markets.
The announcement did not disclose pricing, detailed specifications or delivery timing for the Australian version. The planned launch follows the model’s expansion in Europe this year.
The Zeekr 007 GT was launched in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Sweden in January. By July, its European presence had expanded to 16 countries, including France, Italy and Spain.
The model was first launched in China in April 2025. Based on the Zeekr 007 electric sedan, it is the brand’s second shooting brake after the 001.
Zeekr launched updated versions of the 007 and 007 GT in China in April this year, upgrading both to a 900-volt architecture with support for charging rates of up to 6C. The latest announcement did not specify whether these features would be offered on the Australian model.
Zeekr is drawing on its shooting brake sales performance to support its overseas expansion. Citing wholesale data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), the company said the 007 GT ranked first in global shooting brake sales in the first 8 months of 2026.
The company also said global deliveries of its shooting brake models remained above 10,000 in August, with cumulative sales exceeding 400,000. The cumulative figure covers its shooting brake lineup, rather than the 007 GT alone.
The overseas push comes as Zeekr’s overall deliveries continue to grow. The brand delivered 37,216 vehicles in September, up 103.85% year-on-year and setting a monthly record for the sixth consecutive month.
Zeekr delivered 288,404 vehicles in the first 9 months of this year, up 100.84% year-on-year, according to data previously reported by CnEVPost.
