- The Sky Nomad lineup secured more than 70,000 locked-in orders in its first month, providing demand support for Xiaomi’s first foray into the extended-range EV market.
- The lineup delivered more than 10,000 vehicles in September, helping Xiaomi Auto’s total deliveries exceed 40,000 for the month.
Xiaomi Auto, the automotive unit of Xiaomi (HKEX: 1810), secured more than 70,000 locked-in orders for its Sky Nomad lineup in the first 30 days after launch, providing fresh demand support as the company seeks to expand deliveries.
Xiaomi Auto announced the figure on Weibo on Thursday, covering the period from September 7 to October 7. It did not disclose an order breakdown by variant.
This is the company’s first update on Sky Nomad’s locked-in orders since it reported more than 10,000 within 4 minutes of launch. Locked-in orders reflect customer demand and are distinct from actual deliveries.
The lineup has already begun contributing to delivery growth. Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun said on October 1 that Sky Nomad deliveries exceeded 10,000 vehicles in September.
Xiaomi Auto previously reported total September deliveries of more than 40,000 vehicles, its highest monthly level this year, up from 30,153 in August. The company has yet to disclose an exact September total.
The Sky Nomad lineup went on sale and began deliveries on September 7, with a starting price at launch of 209,900 yuan ($31,160), marking Xiaomi’s entry into the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) market.
The lineup includes the 5-seat N70 Pro and N70 Max, the 7-seat N90 Max and the camping-oriented 5-seat N90 Max Studio, expanding Xiaomi’s offerings for family buyers.
Previously, Xiaomi Auto’s lineup consisted of the battery-electric SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV. The new series broadens its potential customer base with extended-range powertrains and different seating configurations.
Xiaomi Auto vice president Li Xiaoshuang previously said the company would disclose only the initial wave of locked-in orders and first-month totals for future vehicle launches. The latest Sky Nomad update follows that approach.
Despite the order growth, Xiaomi still needs to accelerate deliveries to approach its annual target of 550,000 vehicles. Using September’s disclosed lower bound of 40,000, the company delivered at least 286,475 vehicles in the first 9 months, equivalent to about 52.1% of its full-year goal.
The extended-range EV market Xiaomi has entered is also under pressure. China’s retail sales of EREVs fell 15.85% year-on-year to 616,000 vehicles in the first 8 months, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Sky Nomad helped lift Xiaomi Auto’s monthly deliveries to their highest level so far in 2026 in its first month on sale.
