When we first reviewed the current iteration of the Volvo XC90 after its 2024 facelift, we used words like “handsome” and “smooth” to describe the SUV. In short, we liked it. And we like it even more now that it’s leasing for $599 a month in some areas.
Lease Deals Start At $599
This is one of those regional deals. We were able to get the $599-per-month offer to show up on the Volvo incentives page when we set our zip code to regions like New York State and Central California, while other areas, like Florida and parts of the Southwest, are leasing the same car for as much as $679.
In other words, shop around. If you can’t find a good deal in your own region, see if a nearby dealer has something for you. With that out of the way, here’s how the $599 deal breaks down:
- $599/mo for 36 months
- $3,719 due at signing
- Stacks with $500 lease loyalty bonus for returning Volvo drivers
- Offer is good on a 2026 XC90 B5 AWD Gas (mild hybrid) model
- Offer available until November 2, 2026
- Qualified lessees only
The lease comes with an offer to purchase the car for $34,345, plus a $450 purchase option fee. Here’s how all these numbers add up.

Total Cost To Buy

If you’re the type who doesn’t mind a lease-to-own plan, these numbers are attractive because you only have to finance a little over half the cost after three years, and you’re even making a $1,571 saving over the sticker price.
Note that these numbers are before any other applicable incentives, and they don’t include taxes, titling, and other costs. This is just to compare the base costs involved in taking the car home.
You Can Finance An XC90 At 4.99% APR
2026 Volvo XC90 Black EditionVolvo
If you’d rather buy an XC90 outright rather than lease it, you can currently finance the car at 4.99% APR. Here’s how this deal works:
- 4.99% APR for up to 72 months
- Qualified buyers only
- Stacks with $1,500 friends and family allowance
- Applies to 2026 B5 Core AWD model
- No down payment required
To get an idea of what you’re saving with this offer, let’s compare it to a typical 6.35% APR loan:

$61,050
Monthly Payment
$983
$1,022
Total Loan Interest

We’re saving a few thousand dollars on this deal compared to typical interest rates. You could argue it’s a marginal saving, but it’s money in your pocket. At 24 miles to the gallon combined, and 10,000 miles driven each year, that’s your fuel expenses covered for 12 months, according to FuelEconomy.gov.
Audi And Genesis Are Giving The XC90 Some Competition
If you’re a Volvo fan, you likely have a taste for the finer things in life without forsaking practicality for luxury. To that end, other brands worth considering might include Lexus, Genesis, Acura, Audi, and BMW. So, let’s see what kind of lease deals these brands are offering.
Note that some of these deals may vary by region, so check your own local dealers to see what’s available near you.
Our favorite deals here include the Genesis GV80 at just $369 a month, and the $6,000 customer bonus available on the Audi Q7. The fine print on that last one says nothing about “qualified lessees only” – only that the value is applied when you lease or buy a new Q7, making it a strong option if your credit has seen better days.
Volvos Are Quick Depreciators
If you’re looking to own a Volvo XC90, but the price is a bit steep, and you’re okay with missing out on that new car smell, the good news is that Volvos depreciate on par with other European luxury brands. Our price-tracking tool currently sees a 2021 XC90 trending at just $24,995, a little over half its original MSRP of $49,000.
Checking our own marketplace for listings with mileage under 65,000, here’s what we turned up…
- A 2021 T5 Momentum is listed at $22,995 in Illinois.
- A 2021 T8 Inscription Expression Recharge PHEV is listed at $24,000 in Georgia.
- A 2020 T6 R-Design is listed at $26,980 in California.
- A 2021 T6 Momentum is listed at $29,900 in South Carolina.
- A 2020 T5 Momentum is listed at $24,999 in Florida.
These listings are just to give you an example of what’s out there. There’s no telling what will be available in your area, and in your price range, when you’re ready to buy.
Reliability may be a concern with older Volvo XC90s. JD Power gave the 2021 model a Quality & Reliability rating of 69/100, which isn’t great, but it’s not terrible, either. Just make sure you’re buying something with low miles and in good condition, and you should get plenty of road out of your new-to-you Volvo.
