Bridgestone has appointed Jacques Fourie as president of its Canadian business, a newly created position the company said reflects the strategic importance of the Canadian market.
Based in Mississauga, Ont., Fourie will oversee the company’s Canadian strategy, commercial operations and long-term growth plans. According to Bridgestone, the new role is intended to support faster decision-making, stronger coordination across the business and closer connections with customers and employees in Canada.
Fourie joined Bridgestone in 2019 and most recently served as president of the company’s Africa Middle East region. Before joining Bridgestone, he spent 15 years with Cummins in finance, sales, operational and executive leadership roles, including as president of Cummins Rocky Mountain.
“Canada is a dynamic and strategically important market with significant opportunities ahead,” said Fourie. “I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to working closely with our customers, partners and teammates across the country.”
