Just months after arriving at dealerships, Subaru’s new electric SUVs are outselling the Solterra.

Subaru’s new EVs drive sales growth in June

Subaru, like its fellow Japanese counterpart, Toyota, added two new electric SUVs to its lineup this year. Alongside the updated 2026 Solterra, Subaru now offers the Trailseeker (Check out our review) and Uncharted EVs.

The 2026 Solterra received a major overhaul for the 2026 model year, now offering up to 288 miles of range from a larger 74.7-kWh battery, a 25% improvement over the outgoing version, which offered up to 227 miles.

Subaru’s updated exterior design gives it a fresh look with its new EV lighting signature and illuminated six-star logo, redesigned headlights, and a new front bumper. The back is also redesigned with a new rear badge, rear gate garnish, and an added roof spoiler.

Subaru fixed one of the biggest driver complaints with the older model. Thanks to a new battery preconditioning system, the 2026 Solterra can recharge from 10% to 80% in under 35 minutes, even in cold weather.

Inside, the cabin features a new standard 14″ Subaru Multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

All 2026 Solterra models are equipped with Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, offering “best-in-class” ground clearance of 8.3″.

The 2026 Trailseeker and Uncharted share most of the same improvements as the Solterra, offering distinct sizes and price points.

Starting at $34,995, the 2026 Uncharted is a smaller, sportier crossover SUV that’s about the size of the gas-powered Crosstrek. The Trailseeker, on the other hand, is a bit bigger and more rugged, more like the Outback. It starts at $39,995, while the Solterra is positioned in between, starting at $38,495.

The Trailseeker is over 6″ longer than the Solterra, with more power (375 hp vs 338 hp) and the ability to tow up to 3,500 lbs. The added size and power, however, mean slightly less range than the Solterra, with up to 281 miles.

After they went on sale earlier this year, the Uncharted and Trailseeker are already outselling the Solterra over the past two months.

The Trailseeker was Subaru’s top-selling EV in June, with 953 units sold, followed by the Uncharted (699) and the Solterra (218).

In May, it was the Uncharted that took the top spot in just its second full sales month, with 1,270 units sold. The Trailseeker (1,074) ranked second, followed by the Solterra (750).

Through the first half of 2026, the Solterra remains ahead with 5,137 units sold, followed by the Uncharted (2,491) and Trailseeker (2,436). Later this year, Subaru will add its first three-row electric SUV, the Getaway, to its lineup (which we got a sneak peek at).

Subaru’s electric SUVs are developed through its partnership with Toyota, and use the same underpinnings as the new 2026 Toyota bZ (which is also off to a surprisingly strong start), C-HR, and bZ Woodland.
