- Maextro V800 carries a pre-sales price starting at 800,000 yuan ($117,810), while the V680 starts at 650,000 yuan.
- The two models are among the first million-yuan MPVs from a Chinese domestic brand, with launch set to begin in early August.
Huawei-backed luxury car brand Maextro unveiled two ultra-luxury MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) models on Thursday, beginning an expansion of its product lineup.
The new V800 and V680 models made their debut at the launch event for the Maextro S800 Grand Design, and opened for pre-sales.
The Maextro V800 carries a pre-sales price range of 800,000 yuan ($117,810) to 1.2 million yuan. The Maextro V680 is priced between 650,000 yuan and 900,000 yuan.
Both models are expected to officially launch in early August. Customers who place a pre-order now can enjoy a 20,000-yuan option package benefit.
Both adopt a 7-seat layout, and are new models from the Maextro brand following its flagship sedan, the S800.
The Maextro V800 measures 5,495 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width and 1,850 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,430 mm.
The Maextro V680 is slightly smaller, with a body length of 5,320 mm and a wheelbase of 3,290 mm, offering users more choice.
Huawei said the V800 is the first domestically produced million-yuan MPV, as well as the first MPV model equipped with a fully active suspension.
The Maextro V800 is built on Maextro’s dedicated Tuling Longxing platform, drawing on the so-called full-domain fusion architecture 2.0 to balance handling and comfort.
Intelligence is one of the core selling points. The new car is fitted with a roof-mounted LiDAR and a new generation of its omnidirectional stereo fusion perception system.
Huawei said the system offers higher-level autonomous driving architecture capabilities, along with redundancy safety design.
The Maextro V800 features a range-extending powertrain, equipped with a 1.5T range-extender engine with a maximum power of 127 kW.
The car uses a dual-motor layout, front and rear, with the front motor delivering a maximum power of 160 kW and the rear motor 230 kW.
For its battery, it carries a 63.2 kWh ternary lithium battery pack from CATL (HKEX: 3750) , with a WLTC pure-electric range of 275 km.
Maextro is a brand jointly created by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp (JAC), sitting under Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business unit.
For a long time, China’s high-end business MPV market has been largely dominated by imported Japanese models, with domestic brands lacking a flagship product to match them.
In recent years, domestic electric vehicles (EVs) have continued to push upmarket in the sedan and SUV segments, but a clear gap has remained in the million-yuan luxury MPV space.
Maextro’s two flagship MPVs target this segment, bringing a new variable to the existing market landscape.
The Maextro S800 Grand Design starts at 1.388 million yuan ($204,400), taking aim at Mercedes-Benz Maybach.
