- Geely Auto’s sales rose 2.02% in June to 240,799 units, as robust overseas demand offset continued weakness at home.
- Geely Auto’s exports surged 157% year-on-year in June, breaking through the 100,000 mark for the first time.
Geely Auto (HKEX: 0175) posted a modest increase in sales last month, as its exports topped 100,000 units for the first time, offsetting the drag from persistent weakness in the domestic market.
The Chinese auto giant’s total sales reached 240,799 units in June, up 2.02% from a year earlier and 1.33% higher than in May, according to data it released on Wednesday.
In the first half of this year, Geely Auto’s cumulative total sales reached 1,422,958 units, a slight increase of 0.98% from the same period a year ago.
Exports continued to serve as Geely Auto’s strongest growth engine. The company sold a record 102,874 vehicles overseas in June, a sharp year-on-year surge of 157.11% and a 20.82% increase from a month earlier.

This marked the first time Geely Auto’s monthly exports have broken through the 100,000 mark. The milestone underscores the accelerating pace of its overseas expansion.
By contrast, the domestic market remained soft. Geely Auto’s domestic sales came in at 137,925 units in June, down 29.64% from a year earlier and 9.55% lower than in May.

In the new energy vehicle (NEV) segment, sales of battery electric vehicle (BEV) models rebounded markedly. This injected fresh momentum into the company’s overall performance.
Geely Auto’s BEV models sold 103,522 units in June, up 21.96% year-on-year and a sharp 35.09% increase from the previous month. This reversed five straight months of year-on-year declines.

The performance of its premium brand Zeekr was particularly striking. The brand delivered a record 35,169 vehicles in June, up sharply by 110.57% year-on-year.
The Geely Galaxy brand also returned to growth. The brand sold 108,206 vehicles in June, up 19.93% year-on-year and a sharp 32.40% increase from the previous month. This ended five consecutive months of year-on-year declines.
However, some sub-brands remained under pressure. The Lynk & Co brand sold 19,066 vehicles in June, down 27.53% year-on-year.
The core Geely brand sold 186,564 units in June, down 3.35% year-on-year but up 2.21% from the previous month.
Leapmotor, Nio and Xpeng each set their highest monthly delivery record so far this year in June.
