The EV revolution has turned out to be very stop-and-start. Less an overnight changing of the guard, and more of a slow, decades-long transition. One of the biggest stumbling blocks has been the high cost of entry. The average cost of a new EV is around $57,000, $7,000 more than the overall average for a new vehicle, and it can take several years to see that money back in fuel savings.

Well, if you’ve been considering buying an electric performance model, and you’re looking to take the sting off, Lucid’s current offer of 0% interest on a 2026 Lucid Gravity could be just the excuse you’ve been waiting for. Here’s what you need to know.

Lucid Is Offering 0% Financing For 72 Months

Lucid currently has this deal listed under the “Finance” tab on the official page for the Gravity, and the offer was promoted via email to US customers not long ago. Going over the offer, and the fine print, here are the main points.

    • The offer is for 0% financing for 72 months.
    • Up to $10,000 in Lucid Credit is available in addition to the 0% financing.
    • You have until July 31, 2026, 11:59 PM Eastern Time, to take delivery.
    • The offer may be combined with other incentives.
    • The offer is only available for the 2026 Lucid Gravity Touring, and 2026 Lucid Gravity Grand Touring.

The offer is available to qualified buyers, and your mileage may vary depending on factors like credit. The example that Lucid gives is that, for instance, you might wind up with a monthly payment of “$13.89 for every $1,000 you finance for 72 months.”

Lucid’s $10,000 credit is a discount applied directly to the price of purchase for qualified buyers. It essentially makes up for the missing $7,500 tax credit, which, one, isn’t available anymore; two, wouldn’t have applied to the $79,900 Lucid Gravity in the first place; and, three, wouldn’t have covered $10,000 in savings. So Lucid is making up the difference, and then some.

While spending $100k on a new electric luxury sedan may be beyond your budget, having a little patience could play nicely into your hands.

Another $6,000 is up for grabs depending on what’s in your driveway. Trade-ins from non-Lucid brands get a $3,000 allowance, and buyers who already own a qualifying Lucid can claim a $3,000 loyalty bonus. Someone who checks every single box could be saving $16,000 on the price of purchase before they’ve even calculated the free financing. The deal is remarkable if you think about it.

How Much Can You Save On This Deal?

    Lucid Gravity Hands-Free Highway DrivingLucid

No two drivers are going to land the exact same deal on a Lucid Gravity. Even if you and your buddy are buying the same trim with the same options, differences in factors like credit score mean that everyone’s taking home a slightly different offer.

But, we can calculate a best-case scenario of potential savings. Let’s assume you’ve got a trade-in worth $20,000, a $10,000 down payment, and that you’ve got excellent credit, so you could be scoring a 5% interest rate, were it not for this deal. Here’s how that shakes out.

    Purchase Price

    $79,900

    Loan Term

    72 Months

    5% Interest

    $6,366

    5% Sales Tax

    $2,495

    Down Payment

    $10,000

    Trade-In Value

    $20,000

    Monthly Payment

    $643

    Total Purchase Cost

    $90,761

Taking out a typical loan, most buyers would be spending somewhere in the low six-figures range for a new Lucid Gravity. But, the kind of buyer who’s going to be claiming every available offer is someone who already had a cherry deal coming their way.

If we tally all of our savings in, here’s how that might look.

    Total Purchase Cost

    $90,761

    Lucid Cash

    -$16,000

    0% Interest

    -$6,366

    Total Savings

    $22,366

    Discounted Purchase Cost

    $68,395

These numbers are provided as an example only. Chances are, your math will come out very different from ours. Even so, a best-case-scenario savings of $22,366 is substantial. And yes, we double-checked our math. Lucid’s cash bonuses alone more than double the savings once offered by those EV tax credits (which, again, wouldn’t have been available for a Lucid Gravity in the first place).

Before you walk into the nearest dealership telling them “CarBuzz said I can claim a $22,366 discount!” check the numbers yourself based on your own credit score and trade-in value. Most buyers will be spending well over $68,395, but, if you check absolutely every box Lucid is looking for when the dealer says “qualified buyers only,” you could wind up paying thousands below MSRP once your loan term is finished.

Lucid’s $50,000 Cosmos Looks Ready To Fight Tesla Model Y, Rivian R2

This is what Lucid’s most important model yet will look like.

This has us wondering: why would Lucid even put this offer out there? Even if very few buyers will qualify for the full deal, why risk tens of thousands of dollars on every sale?

Lucid Needs To Make Room For The 2027 Gravity

2026 Lucid Gravity Touring Interior view of the front cabinLucid Motors

Lucid sold 15,841 units last year in total across all trims and models. This is a 55% improvement over the year prior, but it might not be enough. We recently reported on Lucid’s announcement to cut its US workforce by nearly 20%, just after having let 12% of its staff go.

COO and interim CEO Marc Winterhoff was recently let go, as CEO Silvio Napoli stepped in, and the COO position was eliminated entirely. We reported that Winterhoff did get to keep his company car, though, suggesting no hard feelings were had.

Lucid’s Future Is Uncertain If It Can’t Unload These SUVs

At last check, Lucid was still hoping to launch the new three-row SUV, the Cosmos, and follow it up with the Lucid Earth, and maybe a fifth model shortly thereafter. We don’t mean to sound pessimistic, but we think those last two might be wishful thinking if the Cosmos doesn’t turn out to be a major hit.

If an offer for $22,000+ in potential savings sounds a bit desperate, well, very few buyers will qualify for anywhere close to that amount. But, the fact that some buyers will means that Lucid is ready to do whatever it takes to get these cars out of storage, off the lots, and into our driveways.

Is A Lucid Gravity A Good Deal At These Prices?

Full disclosure: we love this SUV, and we’ve been championing it from the start. We named it the Best Luxury Vehicle for the 2026 model year last November, and that’s not just for electric vehicles, not just for SUVs, but for the whole luxury market. That means we ranked it over everything from the BMW 5 Series to the Cadillac Escalade.

Among our reasons for singling out the Gravity:

    • The interior is everything a luxury car is meant to be, with a gorgeous frosted glass console, walnut inlays, available Nappa leather, and a 34-inch instrument cluster.
    • The Grand Touring trim delivers more than 800 horsepower.
    • The third-row seat is actually roomy enough for two or three adults. A rarity even in the $80,000+ price range.
    • Available rear-axle turning makes for easy parking, despite the car’s size.
    • The adjustable air suspension is perfectly tuned, no matter the setting.

As far as fuel savings go, FuelEconomy.gov estimates anannual charging cost of just $700, assuming 15,000 miles driven each year, split 45/55 between highway and city driving. This has you saving $7,500 over five years in comparison to a typical 2026 ICE vehicle, and spending just $1.14 for every 25 miles driven. The calories you burn riding your bicycle to the corner store will cost more per mile.

We can go on about features and specs and cost of ownership all day, but, like all the best luxury models, the Gravity is a work of art. We’re trying to tell you what it’s like to see a Van Gogh up close. The Gravity was built by car fanatics, and it shows. Give it a test drive and see for yourself if it’s worth the cost.
