Automotive Toyota is heading into the Tokyo Auto Salon with that familiar twinkle in its eye, and Gazoo Racing is doing the teasing. On social media, the brand has been posting faux text-message exchanges featuring Akio Toyoda’s “Morizo” persona, and one line in particular has lit up the enthusiast corners of the internet: talk of a “new midship two-seater” that Toyoda has supposedly “obtained.” No shadowy photo. No silhouette. Just enough mystery to get everyone arguing in the comments. The timing is what makes it feel like more than a random show car. Toyota has been flirting with…
E-bike theft is one of those problems that never really goes away. Those of us who have been victims of it will never really forget that feeling. Of course, good locks can help, and GPS trackers might assist in getting a stolen bike back. But once a bike is stolen, the real incentive for thieves is simple: resale. And that’s exactly the problem Bosch is aiming to tackle with a new software update unveiled at CES 2026. Bosch’s latest addition to its smart system lets owners digitally mark an e-bike – or even just its battery – as stolen using…
Few technical details on the new Prototype 2026 have been revealed, but we suspect it’ll have a similar range to the saloon’s 300-odd miles, made possible by a 91kWh battery pack and a dual-motor layout. Maximum power is around 480bhp, and peak DC charging speeds are rated at up to 150kW. These are hardly ground-breaking numbers for a car due in 2028, but this prototype is more about software than hardware; Afeela says it’ll launch its first models with Level 2+ autonomy. This will give point-to-destination autonomous driving, although the driver will still need to have their eyes on the…
For a variety of reasons this point in time, long warranties may be less important now than, say, 20 years ago, but they’re still incredibly important. Particularly when it comes to trucks that are being used as trucks and planned on being owned for many years. Ram has been a leader when it comes to truck warranties and has expanded that for the 2026 model year across its lineup of 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickups. Excluding all-electric models that have their own warranties, 2026 models periods are now covered by a 10-year or 100,000 mile-limited powertrain warranty – whichever arrives…

Ontario auto shops are stepping up with new services as electric vehicle adoption grows, according to a recent industry panel. Shop owners highlighted how visible investments and proactive customer engagement are positioning them for the next wave of automotive needs during the Automotive Aftermarket Retailers of Ontario 2025 Symposium. Scott Eccles of Eccles Automotive described how their business has installed public charging stations. He said the move is “as a service for the area,” giving EV drivers a local option to power up and drawing attention to the shop’s expertise. Plus, it helps with word-of-mouth and community engagement as key…
Costco’s Auto Program has added new EVs to its member-only new car incentives. Four Cadillac EVs are eligible for up to $1,250 in savings for Costco members. Three Volvo EVs are also on the list. Costco Auto Program, the American wholesale giant’s car-related discount service, is offering its members incentives of up to $1,250 for a new Cadillac EV, and up to $2,000 off a new Volvo EV. The incentives are available to Non-Executive and Executive members until March 2, and they apply to certain 2025 and 2026 models. Better yet, Costco’s vouchers can be stacked with manufacturer or dealer…
HP is using CES 2026 week to put the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 in the spotlight, with a simple pitch for shoppers who want a premium laptop that’s easier to carry. In its CES 2026 announcement, HP says the 14-inch notebook is 5% thinner than a 2025 MacBook Air 13, and 52 %lighter than the previous generation. If you’re looking for the practical details, you won’t find pricing or a firm ship date in this announcement. HP only says the OmniBook Ultra 14 is expected to be available on HP.com. Thinner than MacBook Air, on paper HP is pairing that…
Don’t overstate the death of minivans just yet. Yes, the segment once featured no fewer than a dozen different models and sold more than a million examples in its peak, while today’s numbers are fractions of that. But despite being largely overtaken by three-row crossovers like the Kia Telluride and Honda Pilot, family haulers with sliding doors continue to do very well in today’s automotive market. To wit: every single minivan experienced sales increases in 2025 relative to the previous year, including the Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager, Kia Carnival, Honda Odyssey, and even the all-electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz.…
The Porsche Macan 4S goes sightseeing in Cappadocia. A stunning region of Turkey, Cappadocia is home to captivating rock formations, caves with incredible history, and unique culinary and cultural offerings like iconic hot air balloons and traditional cuisine. For Porsche, the beautiful region served as the perfect venue for the new Porsche Macan Electric 4S to show off its off-road capability. When they arrive, the volcanic landscape of Cappadocia is dusted with a layer of snow. In 1985, the rock formations of Cappadocia were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. With each axle of the Porsche Macan Electric 4S…
