For a variety of reasons this point in time, long warranties may be less important now than, say, 20 years ago, but they’re still incredibly important. Particularly when it comes to trucks that are being used as trucks and planned on being owned for many years. Ram has been a leader when it comes to truck warranties and has expanded that for the 2026 model year across its lineup of 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickups. Excluding all-electric models that have their own warranties, 2026 models periods are now covered by a 10-year or 100,000 mile-limited powertrain warranty – whichever arrives first.
Beating The Standard 5-year/60,000-mile But With Caveats

According to Ram, the extension “underscores Ram’s commitment to quality and long-term value as nearly 80 percent of new truck loans now exceed five years, outpacing traditional 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty periods.” The caveat being that it’s tied to the original owner and not applicable to fleet purchases, just retail purchases and leases to individuals and businesses. However, it does cover all 2026 model year trucks and vans sold in the United States and Canada, including the high-performance Ram RHO, Ram Power Wagon, and the full Chassis Cab lineup.

The next caveat is that this doesn’t apply to the current Ram SRT TRX since it’s listed as a 2027 model. Ram has yet to announce anything regarding warranties for 2027 model-year vehicles yet. We doubt Ram is going to back off, though, as the brand’s confidence in its lineup’s durability is a key selling point. And, by limited warranty, Ram explicitly states it applies to the engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, and differentials.

Ram is currently best known for its utterly bonkers TRX super-truck – its response to the Ford Raptor desert runner, rock crawler, and all around off-road monster. The 2027 model will arrive with its supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 making 777 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque. That’s an increase of 75 hp and 30 lb-ft over the previous iteration and, proving the horsepower wars aren’t quite over, beating the current 720 hp and 640 lb-ft of the Ford F-150 Raptor R.
