Formula 1 has long been a European affair. Cars were revealed under rain clouds hanging over Silverstone or on Italy’s famous Fiorano asphalt. But on 15 January, the F1 world will look to the birthplace of the muscle car, Detroit, for Red Bull’s unveiling of its 2026 challenger. Ford and Red Bull Racing will reveal their 2026 car at the former’s world headquarters alongside sister team Visa Cash App RB. While this will prove to be a great opportunity to market to a growing American viewership, it’s also a promise from the partnership between the brands: Ford’s input is much…
Auto theft in Canada remains a serious and costly problem, with losses climbing sharply over the past decade even as recent data shows a short-term decline, according to new figures released by the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC). National auto theft claims losses reached more than $360 million in the first half of 2025, down 34 per cent from the same period in 2024 but still triple the amount recorded 10 years ago. In the first half of 2015, losses totalled just over $120 million. Claims counts tell a similar story: 12,887 theft claims were reported in the first six…

There was a time not too long ago when buying a power bank was as easy as choosing the cheapest portable battery that could charge your phone and quickly slip into your pocket, purse, or backpack. The hardest part was deciding whether it was time to ditch USB-A ports.Recently, however, brands have been slathering on features, many of which are superfluous, in an attempt to both stand out from the commodified pack and justify higher price points. It’s especially prevalent amongst the bigger power banks that can also charge laptops, those that butt right up to the “airline friendly” 99Wh…
Bosch believes gas-powered cars will account for 70 percent of the North American market in 2035. Combustion engines will likely function as hybrids or range extenders. Automakers are embracing hybrids as interest and subsidies for electric vehicles wane. Gas-powered cars aren’t going anywhere—but they won’t be alone in propelling tomorrow’s vehicles. Bosch believes that 70 percent of cars in North America through 2035 will still come with internal combustion engines, but they might be used in hybrids or as range extenders. “We’ve been very balanced on our approach to electrification, to hybrids and to, let’s call it ‘natural propulsion’…
Commemorating the brand’s involvement in treacherous endurance races like the Paris-Dakar Rally, Porsche developed and engineered the 911 Dakar to pay homage to icons like the 80s Rothmans 959 race car. Today, the new 992 generation Porsche 911 Dakar continues to grow in popularity and value as all 2,500 allocations have been sold to those who are looking to experience the perfect blend of adventure and performance. The long-range Corsa Electric uses a more densely packed and efficient 51kWh battery than the regular one; and Vauxhall’s quick to stress that this 1kWh makes more of a difference in the real world than it may seem on paper. It boosts range from 222- to 246 miles – which, in a car in the Corsa’s class where sub-200-mile ranges are par for the course, is something of a strength. The bigger battery is paired with Stellantis’s new front-mounted, AC synchronous, electrically excited drive motor, which produces 154bhp in Sport driving mode; but, perhaps more importantly, is also more capable of running more efficiently at higher cruising speeds than the…
New York City is a mega metro area with a huge overall population, which means it can support niche spaces: LGBTQ bars, queer bookstores, and whole neighborhoods that feel like home. It also has deep queer history tied to the modern LGBTQ rights movement. Stonewall sits in New York, and today you still see gay nightlife spill out into the street in a way that signals, “Yes, you belong here.” If you are comparing New York to European cities, think of it like a dense, loud version of a big-capital city nightlife zone, except spread across multiple boroughs.

We often hear about technology crossing over from motorsport. But if hydrogen fuel cells ever do make it to mainstream cars, it’s looking as though trucks, not racing, will play a major part in establishing the technology first. Bosch sees hydrogen as a major contributor to decarbonisation in the future and has recently put an articulated lorry powered by its fuel cell power module (FCPM) into service at its plant in Nuremberg, Germany. It has good reason to feel positive about a future hydrogen economy. Bosch expects a global hydrogen energy capacity of 100-170GW and sales revenue for the company running…
