Lexus is getting serious about the three-row electric SUV market with the all-new 2027 TZ, and we now know exactly what it will cost to get into one. The brand’s first fully electric three-row SUV will start at $64,050 including the delivery, processing and handling fee, putting it in an interesting position between mainstream family-focused EVs and considerably more expensive luxury alternatives. The first TZ450e Premium models are scheduled to arrive in late 2026, giving Lexus another important electric entry as buyers continue looking for battery-powered SUVs with enough room for the family.
There is one notable change from what was originally expected. The TZ450e will produce 308 total system horsepower from its dual-motor DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive setup, rather than the 402 horsepower associated with earlier information about the model. The good news for buyers who want more punch is that 402 horsepower hasn’t disappeared completely. Lexus will offer a dealer-installed Performance Upgrade exclusively for the TZ450e Luxury that unlocks the higher output and drops the estimated 0-to-60-mph time to 5.2 seconds. For everyone else, the standard 308-horsepower configuration should still provide respectable performance for a six-passenger luxury SUV.
Battery size and range depend on which TZ you choose. The $64,050 TZ450e Premium uses a 76.96-kWh lithium-ion battery and carries a manufacturer-estimated 253-mile range. Stepping up to the $72,050 Premium Touring brings a much larger 95.82-kWh battery and stretches the estimated range to an impressive 315 miles. That makes the Premium Touring look like the sweet spot for buyers planning longer family road trips. The $80,550 Luxury uses the same larger battery but is estimated at 279 miles, with its larger 22-inch wheels contributing to the range difference compared with the Premium Touring’s 20-inch setup.
Lexus has also packed the TZ with the sort of features expected from a modern flagship family EV. All models get DIRECT4 all-wheel drive, a 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, while the cabin is configured with seating for six. The TZ also incorporates a built-in North American Charging Standard port, better known as NACS, along with Plug & Charge capability and support for bidirectional charging that can be used with compatible vehicle-to-home equipment. Available Dynamic Rear Steering is intended to make the sizable SUV easier to maneuver at lower speeds while improving stability when traveling faster.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the 2027 Lexus TZ is how aggressively Lexus has positioned the entry model. A starting price just over $64,000 puts a three-row, all-wheel-drive luxury EV within reach of shoppers who might otherwise be looking at well-equipped mainstream electric SUVs, while the Premium Touring’s 315-mile estimate addresses one of the biggest concerns surrounding larger family EVs. The reduced standard horsepower figure may grab attention, but 308 horsepower, standard AWD and the availability of a 402-horsepower upgrade on the Luxury model give Lexus some room to appeal to different buyers. With the Premium arriving in late 2026 and Premium Touring and Luxury versions following in early 2027, the TZ could become one of Lexus’ most important new vehicles as the luxury EV market expands.
