Voyah Automotive (HKEX: 7489), a subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor, has previewed its all-new model, the Passion S, adding another highly sporty SUV (sport utility vehicle) to the Chinese market.
Voyah shared the first batch of uncamouflaged official teaser images of the Passion S on Friday, calling the model a tech-dynamic SUV.
The Passion S looks somewhat like the Ferrari Purosangue, dubbed by some as a so-called FUV (Ferrari Utility Vehicle), and is aimed at competing with the highly popular Xiaomi (HKEX: 1810) YU7.
The Voyah model measures 5,050 millimeters in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,656 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, according to its regulatory filing.
This size is close to that of the YU7 GT model launched yesterday evening. The YU7 GT has a length, width, and height of 5,015 mm, 2,007 mm, and 1,597 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
The Passion S features a sharp front profile, with its hood sporting a series of muscular lines that deliver a strong visual impact, according to the released images.
To optimize the vehicle’s stability at high speeds, the rear is equipped with a large spoiler and two hollowed-out air deflectors.
A LiDAR sensor is mounted on the vehicle’s exterior roof to enable better autonomous driving capabilities.
Voyah had already released camouflaged images of the new coupe SUV, codenamed FE, earlier this month, revealing that it will be equipped with Huawei’s 896-channel LiDAR.
With the strong backing of Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent advanced driver assistance system, the LiDAR is expected to help the vehicle detect tiny obstacles just 14 centimeters high from 120 meters away, according to previously released information from Huawei.
The Voyah Passion S is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions, with the four-wheel drive variant delivering a combined output of 475 kilowatts (637 hp).
The Passion S is a crucial part of Voyah’s move to expand its premium product portfolio in 2026 and is expected to hit the market in the middle of this year.
In addition to the Passion S, Voyah began pre-sales for its all-new large SUV, the Taishan X8, on April 22, with a starting price of 302,900 yuan ($44,550).
The Taishan X8 is also equipped with Huawei’s 896-channel LiDAR, along with three additional LiDAR sensors, to achieve stronger environmental perception capabilities.
The Taishan X8 will officially launch later today, with a release event scheduled to begin at 2 pm Beijing Time.
Stellantis will hold a 51% stake in the new joint venture and lead the sales and localized production of the Voyah brand in Europe.
