The Trailseeker was Subaru’s best-selling electric SUV last month. Starting at under $40,000, the “go-anywhere, rugged SUV” offers a spacious interior, standard AWD, and a combined 375 horsepower.

2027 Subaru Trailseeker prices and range by trim

Subaru’s new electric SUV is already proving popular (check out our review). Just months after going on sale, it became the brand’s most popular electric SUV last month, outselling the Solterra and Uncharted.

Building on a strong debut, Subaru announced 2027 Trailseeker prices will start at $39,995, the same as the current model.

The 2027 Subaru Trailseeker will be available in three trims, including Premium, Limited, and Touring.

Subaru calls it a “go-anywhere, rugged SUV” with 8.3″ of ground clearance and its signature Symmetrical all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

With a combined 375 hp, the big-body SUV can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, making it Subaru’s quickest production vehicle ever sold in the US. The added power enables it to tow up to 3,500 lbs.

Compared to the Solterra, the Trailseeker is over 6″ longer and nearly 1″ taller, opening up more interior space.

While the Tesla Model Y is slightly longer and wider, the Trailseeker is a bit taller and offers more ground clearance. Both offer about the same cargo space.

The rugged electric SUV offers up to 31.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity in the rear, or about the same as the 2026 Subaru Outback and slightly more than the Model Y (30 cu ft).

Subaru’s electric SUV uses a 74.7 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 281 miles on a single charge.

It also features a standard NACS charge port. With DC fast charging of up to 150 kW, the 2027 Subaru Trailseeker can recharge from 10% to 80% in as little as 28 minutes.

Inside, the Trailseeker adopts Subaru’s new interior design with a 14″ center infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

As an added touch, all 2027 Subaru Trailseeker models come with StartTex trimmed upholstery as standard.

The base Premium trim, starting at $39,995, is equipped with Subaru’s EyeSight driver assist technology, heated front seats, a power rear gate, ladder-style roof rails, dual wireless phone chargers, and 18″ aluminum-alloy wheels.

It also has Subaru’s X-MODE Dual Mode, which adds extra control when AWD alone is not enough. The system uses the same sensors as the AWD setup, but adjusts different vehicle settings to improve traction and control.

Upgrading to the Trailseeker Limited, starting at $43,995, gains a premium Harmon Kardon speaker system, panoramic view monitor, 20″ aluminum-alloy wheels, heated rear seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 120-volt AC power outlet in the back.

The range-topping Touring trim costs $46,555 and adds premium features, including a gloss-black hood accent, a panoramic glass roof with a motorized shade, and ventilated front seats and radiant leg warmers.

The 2027 Subaru Trailseeker will go on sale this fall. It will be available in six colors: Brilliant Bronze Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Pearl, Magnetite Gray Metallic, and Sapphire Blue Pearl. You can upgrade to Daybreak Blue Pearl for an extra $395.

The Tesla Model Y RWD is about the same price, starting at $39,990, but upgrading to AWD costs $41,990. The Tesla Model Y AWD offers an EPA-estimated driving range of 294 miles.
