OLED TVs have become considerably more accessible over the years, but buying one from a premium brand can still get expensive very quickly. Sony’s newest Bravia is trying to make that jump a little easier. The company has launched the 2026 Bravia 6, a 48-inch (more sizes available) OLED TV priced at $1,299.99. That’s still a decent chunk of money for a television, but it’s relatively approachable by Sony OLED standards, especially given what’s packed into it.
At its core, you’re getting a 4K OLED panel with the deep blacks and strong contrast you’d expect from the technology. Sony also throws in Triluminos Pro for a wider range of colors, and each panel is individually calibrated at the factory. But the Bravia 6 gets more interesting once you start looking beyond picture quality.
Four HDMI ports make this a tempting gaming TV
If your entertainment center is already overflowing with consoles and other devices, Sony has some good news: there are four HDMI ports, and they support HDMI 2.1 gaming features. That means you can play supported games at up to 4K and 120fps, while Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) can synchronize the TV with your console’s frame rate to help keep gameplay looking smooth. Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) is here as well, automatically switching the TV into its low-latency setting when you’re gaming.
Sony
That’s a useful combination if you have several devices fighting for space under the TV. Sony specifically supports PlayStation 5, of course, but the connectivity also leaves plenty of room for an Xbox, Nintendo console, sound system, or another HDMI device without constantly swapping cables. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support round out the movie side, while DTS is included for more immersive audio.
Gemini is built right into the TV
Sony hasn’t forgotten about the smart part of its new Google TV, either. The Bravia 6 comes with Gemini, letting you speak to the TV instead of endlessly bouncing between streaming apps to decide what to watch. You can ask Gemini for movie and TV recommendations based on what you’re in the mood for, follow up with more questions, or simply use your voice to launch apps, play music, and control compatible smart-home devices.
Sony
Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, Apple TV, and Crunchyroll are among the streaming services available through Google TV, and Google Cast lets you send content from a phone or tablet to the television. Sony has also included a light sensor that automatically adjusts the picture depending on your room, along with a narrow-bezel design and an adjustable stand that can be raised to make room for a soundbar. At $1,299.99, the 48-inch Bravia 6 isn’t exactly a budget TV. But if you’ve been waiting for a smaller Sony OLED without immediately wandering into seriously expensive territory, this could be one worth keeping an eye on.
