Geely Holding Group has entered a global strategic partnership with Google, with the first model under the agreement scheduled to launch in the second half of 2027.
The group said in a statement on Friday that it will integrate Google Automotive Services into eligible overseas models across its portfolio to expand digital cockpit capabilities.
The first model is planned for markets outside China and the US, with the roll-out subject to product development, regulatory requirements and market readiness.
The partnership covers overseas markets where Google services are available. Eligible vehicles will feature built-in services including Google’s Gemini AI assistant, Google Maps and Google Play.
The services will combine voice interaction, navigation, in-car apps and cross-device connectivity, helping Geely Holding’s brands cater to digital habits across overseas markets.
The agreement builds on Google’s existing partnerships with brands in Geely Holding’s portfolio. The Polestar 2 has featured built-in Google services since 2020.
Brands set to introduce the services include Geely, Lynk & Co, Proton, Riddara and Smart. Details of supported models and markets will be announced as the roll-out progresses.
Shen Yuan, senior vice president and chief technology officer at Geely Holding, said consumers increasingly expect in-car connectivity to offer the same convenience as everyday consumer electronics. The company aims to integrate digital services more deeply into its vehicles through the partnership.
Haris Ramic, Google’s Android for Cars product director, said the collaboration will give users of more Geely Holding models access to apps, navigation and a personalized AI assistant directly from their dashboards.
The partnership comes as Geely accelerates its overseas expansion. Geely Auto (HKEX: 0175) in August raised its 2026 export target to 920,000 vehicles from 640,000 and said it would aim for 1,000,000 in overseas sales.
At the broader group level, Geely Holding in January set a goal of reaching global annual sales of 6.5 million vehicles by 2030, with markets outside China accounting for more than a third.
The Geely brand has begun establishing local operations and a retail and service network in Canada, with initial models yet to be announced.
