- Leapmotor B03X features a 145 kW motor, a significant power boost over China’s A10.
- The car starts at €24,900 in Europe, more than double the price of the top-spec A10 in China.
Stellantis-backed Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Leapmotor (HKEX: 9863) said Monday that its all-electric compact crossover, the B03X, has opened for pre-orders in the European market, with a starting price of €24,900 ($28,460).
The B03X is the overseas variant of the A10 that Leapmotor sells in China. The two share key specifications including exterior design, dimensions and battery, but the B03X’s powertrain has received a significant upgrade.
Leapmotor said dealers across Europe began taking orders in early July, marking the official start of the car’s commercial rollout and helping the company accelerate its expansion into key global markets.
The company described the B03X as a global strategic model designed for international markets from the outset, combining advanced technology, versatile design and everyday practicality with the aim of bringing a premium electric mobility experience to a broader audience.
In terms of power, the B03X is equipped with a single front-mounted motor delivering a maximum output of 145 kW (194 hp) and peak torque of 200 Nm. By comparison, the motor in China’s A10 has a maximum output of just 90 kW.
Thanks to the added power, the B03X can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h.
The B03X measures 4,270 millimeters in length, 1,810 millimeters in width and 1,635 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 2,605 millimeters, giving it a compact body suited to urban driving and parking.
The car offers a choice of 39.8 kWh and 53.0 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, delivering WLTP ranges of 292 kilometers and 382 kilometers respectively.
Both batteries support 2.5C fast charging, taking about 16 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% via DC fast charging.
The B03X is built on Leapmotor’s latest-generation platform and uses a CTC 2.0 Plus (Cell-to-Chassis) short-blade battery system.
It runs on Leap OS 4.0, supporting smart connectivity, smartphone integration and remote vehicle control.
Leapmotor positions the car as a smart Urban Crossover for modern living, blending the characteristics of an SUV (sport utility vehicle) into a compact body, with LIFE and DESIGN trim levels available in the European market.
By comparison, the A10 launched in China in March this year in four trim levels, priced from 65,800 yuan ($9,680) to 86,800 yuan ($12,770).
On that basis, the B03X’s starting price in Europe is equivalent to more than double the price of the top-spec A10 in China.
The A10 has performed strongly in the Chinese market, with sales reaching 23,011 units in May, competing directly with popular small EVs such as BYD’s Yuan Up and Geely’s Xingyuan.
Leapmotor is seeking to sustain its growth momentum through an intensive new-model offensive. The company achieved its first full-year profit in 2025, with annual deliveries approaching 600,000 units.
Management has previously reiterated its target of delivering more than 1 million vehicles in 2026, and expects new models including the A10 to contribute 60% of this year’s total sales.
Leapmotor delivered 93,376 vehicles globally in June, a new monthly record.
