The British engineering experts at Lanzante have revealed the results of their hard work on the forthcoming 95-59 supercar. Based on the McLaren 750S but modified with totally new bodywork and a three-seat cabin with the driver in the middle, the 95-59 will also receive a bold HDK package – for “high-downforce kit” – that makes it even wilder than the 1995 McLaren F1 GTR that it pays homage to.
There’s a lot that separates the HDK from the “regular” 95-59, with revisions from top to bottom and stem to stern, making this one of Lanzante’s most audacious designs yet.

The McLaren 750S Gets Substantially More Aggressive
Lanzante has quite a bit of history with McLaren, including racing an original F1 GTR to victory at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s that achievement that the 95-59 commemorates, with its name denoting the year of the win and the number of vehicles that will be produced. Those lucky 59 customers will now have the option to spec their personal projects with the newly revealed HDK package, announced via the company’s Instagram last week, which again pays homage to the original F1 HDK.
However, the 95-59 HDK (teased in a drawing at Monterey Car Week) is far more aggressive than its namesake (and much more comprehensively altered compared to the standard car) than expected. The rear bodywork has been redesigned to incorporate a swooping rear spoiler, a departure from the original F1’s pedestal-style wing, and the front bumper has been completely revised to make space for a deeper front splitter with large vertical stabilizers.

Taller and wider side skirts and a huge rear diffuser round out the changes to the ground effects. The HDK also gets a chiseled, vented bonnet to evacuate high-pressure air from under the car and route it cleanly over the roof, where it will encounter a towering air intake scoop that should introduce the engine to much cooler air.
The HDK also revealed a new center-locking wheel for the 95-59, with a unique design that sort of blends the roadgoing McLaren F1’s five-spoke wheel shape with that of the F1 GTR. Lanzante hasn’t revealed full specifications yet, but it does say that the 95-59 will make “in excess of 850 horsepower,” meaning at least 100 more than the 750S upon which it’s based. And as we already knew, the revised chassis and three-seat cockpit are yet more modifications the engineering firm made to the McLaren supercar.
What Is Lanzante’s History With McLaren?
McLaren chose Lanzante to run the “semi-works” F1 GTR in 1995, the first collaboration between the two companies. Since then, the bespoke engineering firm has worked on a number of McLaren’s vehicles, including converting a number of track-only GTRs for road use. Lanzante also collaborated with Paul Howse, designer of the original McLaren P1, to convert exactly five examples of the plug-in hybrid hypercar into open-roof Spiders.

Other McLaren-oriented projects include a road-converted version of the P1 GTR (called the LM), as well as one inspired by the F1 HDK. Lanzante also works on other vehicles, including converting the Bugatti Bolide and Lamborghini Sesto Elemento into road-legal supercars.

CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters:
Lanzante’s high-dollar builds (the 95-59 starts at more than $1.3 million) also show an equally high attention to detail, and the HDK package clearly shows that. Instead of just slapping a wing spoiler and some side sill extensions onto the 95-59 and calling it a day, the engineering firm did some substantial reimagining of its limited-production supercar.
As if we thought the unique three-seat interior layout weren’t enough, Lanzante one-upped itself with the wild 95-59 HDK.
