Hyundai is set to launch the IONIQ 6 N in the US by the end of the year, its second electric N vehicle following the IONIQ 5.

Despite the rumors, Hyundai is still planning to launch the IONIQ 6 N in the US by the end of 2026. After shelving the standard IONIQ 6 following the 2025 model year, many expected the N model would face the same fate.

At last year’s LA Auto Show, Hyundai said it would sell the IONIQ 6 N in limited batches after introducing the North American version.

Those plans are still on track, according to Derek Joyce, manager of Hyundai Motor America’s premium model lines. Joyce told TheKoreanCarBlog last month that “there has been no change in Hyundai’s plans for the IONIQ 6 N in the US in 2026,” adding that it will launch by the end of the year.

Hyundai’s US website now says the IONIQ 6 N is “coming in 2026 with extremely limited availability at select dealers.”

With orders set to open soon, Hyundai’s electric sports car was caught driving around undisguised. The new image from our friends at KindelAuto offers a closer look at the IONIQ 6 N on public roads.

As you can see, the N variant features an aggressive, race-car-like design with a wider, lower stance than the standard IONIQ 6.

It also gains a massive ducktail wing and spoiler, modified front and rear bumpers, and exclusive N badges.

The IONIQ 6 N is Hyundai’s second performance EV, following the popular IONIQ 5 N. Built on the same E-GMP platform, the IONIQ 6 N features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain that delivers a combined 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque when using N Launch Control and N Grin Boost.

Hyundai said the electric sports car can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds, barely beating the IONIQ 5 at 3.25 seconds.

N Launch Control and N Grin Boost are a few of many fun features that make Hyundai’s electric N vehicles more than just a performance EV (which several brands are now stealing).

Like the IONIQ 5 N, the IONIQ 6 N features Hyundai’s N e-Shift and N Active Sound+ systems that simulate the sounds and sensations of a traditional gas-powered car with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

After introducing it in South Korea, Europe, and the UK, Hyundai is set to launch the IONIQ 6 N in the US by the end of 2026.

Hyundai has yet to reveal official prices, but after cutting prices in July, the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 now starts at $59,300, or $6,300 less than last year’s model.

The IONIQ 6 N, which will go on sale as a 2027 model year, will likely start at about $65,000 to $70,000.

That might seem expensive, but it will come fully loaded with a stroke-sensing, electronically controlled suspension, Brembo Brakes, sports bucket seats, an N performance steering wheel, exclusive badging, and more.
