Every time I drive a Tesla Model X, what strikes me most isn’t its impressive speed or near-silent operation—it’s the vehicle’s versatility. Executive express, family flagship, adventure vehicle, spaceship; the rocket-shaped EV fills so many roles with ease. One day it’s ferrying kids to school with a trunk full of soccer gear; the next it’s picking up a client from the airport, spotless and silent. The Model X shifts between those lives without blinking—and the mats underneath it have to keep up.

The Fitment
TuxMat doesn’t do universal or generic fitments. Each mat set is made from laser-measured scans, which are then carefully dialed in with computer modeling before mock-ups are made and fine-tuned for production.

The Form

Loading these large mats in and out of our Model X test car takes a moment to seat properly, but that’s the tradeoff for coverage this complete. While they’re weighty enough to retain their shape, they’re pliable enough to work into the cracks and crevices they protect.
The shaped patterns channel rainwater and light debris away from your feet, while the fine texturization keeps dirt from scattering when it comes off your shoes. Cleanup is easy—vacuum or wipe them down while they’re still in the car, or pop them out for a deeper clean when conditions call for it.

That toughness is the other half of the versatility story: these mats are refined enough for date night and rugged enough for the trailhead, so you never have to think about which day it is. We only had this Model X set in the vehicle for a day when I shot these photos, but the sets we put in a Ford Maverick and Toyota RAV4 last year still look mint with nothing more than a dust-off—and both have carried dogs and kids through all four seasons.
