Geotab has been named In-Cabin Intelligence Company of the Year by AutoTech Breakthrough for its GO Focus family of AI dash cams.

According to the company, the system uses artificial intelligence and computer vision technology to identify driving behaviours including distracted driving, drowsiness, phone use, tailgating and stop-sign violations. Geotab said drivers receive real-time voice coaching designed to help correct risky behaviours as they occur.

The company said the technology can also support driver exoneration by allowing video footage to be uploaded following incidents and offers privacy-focused options, including a road-facing-only camera and a mode that detects events without retaining video.

“The safest fleet is one where accidents don’t happen,” said Sabina Martin, vice-president of product management at Geotab.
