Genesis is preparing to make a bold statement with its upcoming GV90 flagship SUV, and one of the most dramatic details from the Neolun concept is apparently heading to production. According to CAR, Genesis Europe managing director Peter Kronschnabl confirmed that the GV90 will feature coach doors, giving the brand’s largest SUV a design flourish normally associated with ultra-luxury names. For Genesis, this is exactly the kind of move that helps separate the GV90 from more familiar rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLS, Lucid Gravity, and other high-end electric SUVs.
The coach-door setup means the rear doors are hinged at the back, opening opposite the front doors for a wider, more theatrical entry into the cabin. When Genesis previewed the idea on the 2024 Neolun concept, many assumed it was one of those concept-car details that would disappear before production.
