Bugatti has never been shy about blending extreme performance with extreme craftsmanship, and its latest Sur Mesure creation may be one of the most ornate examples yet. The new Bugatti W16 Mistral Blanc Éternel is a one-of-one roadster that brings porcelain back into the brand’s design story, pairing the final open-top W16 Bugatti with intricate details created in collaboration with Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, better known as KPM.

The Blanc Éternel serves as a spiritual follow-up to the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc from 2011, another KPM collaboration that stunned collectors with its porcelain accents and flowing blue-and-white design. This time, Bugatti takes a more precise and geometric approach. Instead of swirling lines, the Mistral wears a crisp white body covered in hand-positioned black graphics that trace the car’s surfaces, vents, curves, and edges like a technical drawing brought to life.

The effect is dramatic without losing the elegance expected from Bugatti. From some angles, the Blanc Éternel looks almost skeletal, highlighting the Mistral’s sculpted bodywork and low, wide stance. The black lines were placed by hand before being painted onto the body, which gives the design a carefully crafted feel rather than the appearance of a simple graphic wrap. It is bold, unusual, and exactly the kind of visual statement that the Sur Mesure program was created to deliver.

KPM’s porcelain work gives the car its most distinctive finishing touch. On the exterior, porcelain appears on the Bugatti badge, fuel and oil caps, engine cover inlays, and the elephant mascot near the side intake, a nod to the brand’s artistic heritage. The name Blanc Éternel is also written beneath the rear wing, adding a subtle signature to a car that is anything but subtle.

Inside, Bugatti continues the porcelain theme with pieces that feel more like jewelry than automotive trim. The speaker grilles, center console details, window switches, and gear selector all feature porcelain elements, surrounded by white leather and black painted lines that mirror the exterior. It may not be the most conventional material for a hypercar cabin, but that is precisely the point. This Mistral is meant to be experienced as a moving sculpture as much as a machine.

Mechanically, the Blanc Éternel remains tied to one of Bugatti’s greatest engineering chapters. The W16 Mistral is the final roadgoing Bugatti powered by the brand’s legendary W16 engine before the company moves into the Tourbillon era with a V16 hybrid powertrain. That alone makes every Mistral special, but this one-off porcelain-trimmed commission adds another layer of rarity and historical significance.

Bugatti has not revealed pricing for the Blanc Éternel, though the standard W16 Mistral was already priced above $5 million before any Sur Mesure touches were added. Given the custom paintwork, handcrafted porcelain details, and one-off status, this commission almost certainly sits far above that figure. For the lucky owner, the result is not just another limited Bugatti, but a deeply personal sendoff to the W16 era wrapped in white, black, and a touch of porcelain artistry.
