Snapchat is already packed with little symbols that can be weirdly hard to decode. You have streaks, emojis, badges, scores, Best Friends, and if you use Snapchat Plus, a tiny solar system that shows where you sit in someone’s closest-friends list. The feature is called Friend Solar System, though most people just call it Snapchat Planets. It takes your position in a friend’s Snapchat orbit and turns it into a planet. From Mercury to Neptune, these celestial bodies signify how close a person is to you. The important thing to know is that Snapchat Planets is a Snapchat Plus feature,…
Art TVs aren’t exactly known for being affordable, which is why Woot’s latest sale is notable. Now through June 26th, the retailer is discounting Samsung’s 2025 Frame TV and Hisense’s 2025 CanvasTV. The 65-inch CanvasTV is down to $779.99 ($520 off) — its best price of the year — while Samsung’s like-minded Frame TV is on sale in multiple sizes starting at $587.99 ($312 off). If you want a bigger set, the 75-inch CanvasTV is also on sale for $1,197.99 ($1,302 off). However, note that both Hisense models come with a one-year warranty, whereas the Frame TVs only include a…
Despite the C-Class’s growth spurt, it still just about fails to offer its market sector’s last word in occupant space. Adults travelling in the car’s back row could be ever so slightly better provided for, particularly on foot space and knee room.Still, people who buy compact executive saloons probably seldom need enough space for large adults in the back – and if you don’t, this cabin has probably everything that you ever wanted from a junior German saloon. On material quality and standard of finish, the Mercedes is breathtakingly good. Among the highlights are shining, stippled metallic air vents and air-con…
Seat Toledo (1991) As with so many family cars of the early 1990s, the Seat Toledo wasn’t exactly a high point in car design, but it was inoffensive enough. On sale throughout the 1990s, this original Toledo was based on the Golf Mk2 which meant a choice of 1.6-, 1.8- or 2.0-litre petrol engines or there was a 1.9 diesel. Lexus GS (1993) When Lexus came up with an executive car to take on the established premium brands, Giugiaro decided that a simplified design was the key, and that’s exactly what he came up with. Sold as the Toyota Aristo in…
Here’s what we read and liked this week. Need something new for your reading list? This week, we recommend checking out The Dorians, a novel by Nick Cutter, and Lorenzo De Felici’s comic series, Red Roots. The Dorians Gallery Books It should become clear pretty quickly that the title here is a nod to one of this book’s major influences, Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. Five people on their deathbeds are interrupted by a mysterious person offering a second chance at life: an experimental treatment that could give them back their youth. This sort…

Juiced Bikes says its newly launched Scrambler e-bikes are now officially in stock and shipping, marking the next step in the brand’s return after its acquisition and relaunch under the team behind Lectric eBikes. The announcement comes just weeks after Juiced unveiled the new Scrambler Hardtail and Scrambler Full Suspension models, two moto-style electric bikes that represent the company’s first major product launch since returning to the market. The pre-order period appears to be over, and customers can now actually order and receive the bikes rather than simply reserve them. It also serves as another sign that Juiced’s comeback is…
BMW first started testing the robots in Germany earlier this year following another trial at its Spartanburg plant in the US. When the pilot officially begins in Leipzig this summer, the Munich-based brand says the AI-powered machines will “be used in the assembly of high‑voltage batteries and in component manufacturing”. That being the case, we expect the robots to be heavily involved in the manufacture of the all-electric MINI Countryman E, as well as the mild-hybrid BMW 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe/Active Tourer, which are all assembled in Leipzig. The robots themselves have been developed by a Swiss firm called…
The fourth-generation Toyota Supra, available in the United States for the 1994 through 1998 model years, has almost mythical status in automotive culture. Also known as the MKIV and its internal designation A80, the Japanese grand tourer has amassed a massive tuning scene. Its 2JZ 3.0-liter inline-six powerplant has been taken apart and put back together by engine builders all over the world to extract as much power as possible. However, the MKIV Supra’s huge popularity has led to the emergence of many tuning myths and so-called “facts” spreading across enthusiast forums. A lot of the confusion may be down…
Based on the latest JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) data, we know that premium vehicles (say, a Volvo S60) are widely less dependable than their mass-market counterparts (for instance, a Honda Accord). A premium brand is worth the extra spend for some, but dependability is no longer a good reason to spend extra. We also know that vehicles with plugs (EVs, PHEVs) tend to experience more problems than vehicles without plugs (ICE, hybrid), and that the “Smartphone on Wheels” approach that’s driven automotive design for the past decade is now the leading driver of dependability issues among surveyed drivers.…
