Automotive Porsche has rolled out the 2027 Taycan, and while the sheet metal hasn’t changed, almost everything underneath has. The biggest headline is that Porsche finally stopped nickel-and-diming buyers on battery capacity. Every single Taycan in the lineup, from the base car to the loaded variants, now comes standard with the Performance Battery Plus pack that used to cost an extra $5780. That means the smaller 83.7-kWh battery is gone for good, and every Taycan, 4, and 4S now rolls off the line with 97.0 kilowatt-hours of usable energy. It’s a welcome bit of equity for a model…

It may be hard to believe, but the Porsche Taycan, the automaker’s very first mass-produced electric car, is actually getting rather old. Its first model year was 2020, meaning the 2027 model will be the eighth year of the sports sedan. Porsche has worked hard to keep the Taycan relevant, though, adding loads of models, a wagon body style, and high-performance upgrades. This newest model is no different, adding more battery capacity for entry-level models, fresh infotainment, and a feature pioneered by none other than Hyundai. 2027 Porsche Taycan GTS from the front three-quarter anglePorsche Porsche Jumps On The Simulated…

Today, BMW is fiercely pragmatic and unafraid to charge customers for every little thing, but this has not always been the case. There was a time when innovation was put first, and that willingness to innovate gave us some of the very best motorcycles. We also got some pretty strange creations, but that is just part of the deal, and some bikes that were written off back when they first came out have aged gracefully. As a motorcycle manufacturer, the Bavarian brand has leaned heavily into the travel segment. This has worked out rather well because traveling on a motorcycle…

If there’s a car brand that knows how to celebrate its history, it’s Porsche and to mark 75 years since it arrived in the UK, the German marque has unveiled the new Porsche 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition.  That ‘51’ part of the name references the first Porsche 356 coupes that were displayed at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1951 – the manufacturer’s debut in Great Britain. It also signifies how many will be built, clearly taking its ‘limited series’ status seriously. Based on the focused GT3 version of the 992.2-generation 911, the Earls Court 51 Edition takes…

A company called Leonardo already develops and sells automatic license plate readers (ALPRs). These are cameras that visually see your vehicle as it drives by, recording your plate for any number of reasons, though probably because you ran a red light or missed a stop sign. Now, it seems the company has plans to go a little further. It’s not an optical upgrade, though. There are plans to add sensors to its cameras in the form of an “advanced signal intelligence system.” As reported by 404 Media, ELSAG SignalTrace is a system that sweeps up unique identifiers of electronic devices…
