The Nissan N7 electric sedan. Credit: Dongfeng Nissan The current N7 went on sale in late April 2025 with a starting price of 119,900 yuan ($17,760). Monthly retail sales of the N7 have fallen to 928 in August from a peak of 10,148 in August 2025. Dongfeng Nissan, Nissan Motor’s joint venture in China, will launch the updated N7 electric sedan on September 22, seeking to revive a model whose aggressive pricing once shook China’s auto market. Local auto media outlet Yiche reported the plan on Thursday, saying the updated model is expected to see adjustments to its configurations. Dongfeng…
Toyota led US new EV sales growth last month with a refreshed lineup of electric SUVs. The Toyota bZ remains a top-selling EV in August Lower-priced models helped push new electric vehicle sales up 2.5% in August from the month prior, with around 78,895 units sold. That’s still down 46.9% from last August, when buyers were still rushing to claim the federal $7,500 EV tax credit, but there’s some good news. According to Cox Automotive’s August EV Market Monitor, new lower-priced electric models helped drive growth last month while narrowing the price gap with gas-powered vehicles even further. Recently unsealed court documents in the New York Times’ case against OpenAI and Microsoft are pretty damning. The companies’ own documentation warned that it was starting a “doom loop” that would damage the web, characterized its scraping of data to train its models as the “largest theft of labor in human history,” and that it made a “complete mockery of the idea of fair use.”Many of the most eye-catching quotes from the document come from Microsoft’s Director of Applied Science, Brent Hecht. Though, the company has tried to distance itself from Hecht’s assertions. Microsoft spokesperson Alex Haurek told The Verge…
Once upon a time, the Chevrolet Trax was something of a joke. Then a few years ago, Chevy saw fit to redesign the small crossover inside and out. To say it was a hit is an understatement – Trax is the best-selling subcompact SUV in America, and if these new spy shots are any indication, it will probably stay that way. If we were on the Honda HR-V design team, we’d be working overtime to find some new ideas. This Chevy is looking untouchable 2027 Chevrolet Trax Spy PhotoCarBuzz / Valnet As previously mentioned, the current Trax is a few…
Subaru is keeping things refreshingly straightforward with the 2027 Forester, holding the starting price at $29,995 while making some meaningful changes farther up the lineup. Most Forester trims carry over their 2026 pricing, and the Forester Hybrid continues to start at $34,730. The bigger news, however, is the arrival of the 2027 Subaru Forester Wilderness Hybrid, a new $40,495 model that combines the brand’s more adventurous Wilderness treatment with its latest hybrid powertrain. The regular Forester lineup has also been reshuffled for 2027. Gas-powered models are now offered in Base, Premium, Wilderness, and Limited trims, while the hybrid…
There’s a lot for Mark Zuckerberg to cover at this year’s keynote. Meta Meta is about to hold its biggest event of the year. While Connect was once solely dedicated to virtual reality, the event now covers all the company’s hardware projects, as well as AI and the metaverse. And this year could be even more jam-packed than usual. Between Meta’s ever-expanding smart glasses lineup, its breakneck AI releases and the current industry freakout over the pace of AI development, there’s certainly a lot of ground for CEO Mark Zuckerberg to cover. Like last year’s event,…

Learn more › Chemical Guys just released a new line of automotive air fresheners and sent us a sample pack. Since you can’t really smell anything through a screen, Bramble the dog and I cracked them all open, took some whiffs, and will now report our findings. None of the scents are off-putting, and the packaging is quite clever. Instead of something dangling from your rear-view mirror, the Chemical Guys ScentTabs air fresheners clip to your vent louvers. BMW’s electric M3, likely called the iM3, is coming quite soon. The brand showed off a near-production example a couple of months ago, and testing is continuing at the Nürburgring, as shown by these spy photos. While it would be easy to assume that the iM3 will be on par with the eventual gas-powered M3 in performance, it’s entirely possible this electric BMW will far exceed it, as the fastest EVs at the ‘Ring are sedans, too. In fact, the driver of the iM3 in these photos was pushing it hard to stay in front of a recent record-holder. BMW…
Chinese automakers like BYD are quickly taking over global markets with low-cost electric vehicles, and Hyundai Motor’s CEO Jose Munoz warned the US could be next without safeguards. Hyundai warns of Chinese EVs entering the US Chinese vehicles are already 30% to 40% cheaper than comparable auto brands in some markets, like Italy, Spain, and France, Munoz told Reuters in San Jose, California, on Thursday. That’s with tariffs and other trade barriers Chinese automakers face on imported electric vehicles in Europe. Meanwhile, in the UK, a market that doesn’t have such measures in place and “was a very profitable, very…
