Jeep is reaching deep into its own history for the latest entry in its Twelve 4 Twelve Wrangler series, and this one feels especially fitting. The new 2027 Jeep Wrangler Sarge is the eighth limited-edition release in the yearlong program, drawing clear inspiration from the original 1941 Willys MB while adding the modern hardware, comfort, and customization today’s Wrangler buyers expect. It is a tribute model, but not the kind that simply adds a badge and calls it a day.
The exterior leans hard into Jeep’s military roots with exclusive ’41 Green accents, vintage-style 1941 hood graphics, military-inspired door star decals, bronze tow hooks, and 17-inch ’41 Green wheels wrapped in 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrain tires. Buyers will be able to get the Wrangler Sarge on both two-door and four-door Rubicon and Willys trims, with either ’41 Green or Bright White details depending on configuration. The look is instantly recognizable, tying the modern Wrangler’s upright stance and seven-slot grille back to the Willys MB that helped define Jeep’s identity.
Inside, Jeep gives the Sarge a cabin that feels purposeful without being bare-bones. The exclusive mix of Drab Green and Cattle Tan materials adds a rugged warmth, while Nappa leather, Soul Cloth seating surfaces, and Mayan Gold stitching bring in a more premium touch. Heritage details are sprinkled throughout, including a 1941 cup holder plaque, star medallion shift knob, seven-slot grille graphics on the HVAC controls, and a rear swing gate plaque. It is the kind of interior that should appeal to Jeep loyalists who appreciate history but still want comfort on the daily drive.
Jeep is also extending the Sarge treatment to the Gladiator, giving the brand’s open-air pickup the same military-inspired personality. Based on Willys and Rubicon trims, the Gladiator Sarge carries over the rugged visual theme while keeping its serious truck credentials intact, including a towing capacity of up to 7,700 pounds and a maximum payload of 1,720 pounds. For buyers who want the heritage look but need pickup-bed practicality, the Gladiator version may be the more interesting choice.
Orders for the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Sarge and Jeep Gladiator Sarge are set to open later this summer. Jeep says the Wrangler four-door Sarge will start at just $100 over a comparably equipped Willys or Rubicon model, while the Gladiator Sarge will start at $500 over comparable Willys and Rubicon trims. That makes this special edition feel surprisingly attainable by Jeep standards, especially for something with such a direct connection to the brand’s origin story. With its ’41 Green accents, authentic Willys-inspired touches, and real trail-ready hardware, the Sarge looks like one of the more meaningful Twelve 4 Twelve releases yet.
