Lamborghini used Monterey Car Week to show just how far its Ad Personam customization program can go with the debut of the new Temerario Tricolore. Revealed at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the special configuration celebrates Italian design, craftsmanship and national identity while giving the brand’s newest hybrid supercar a much more personal character. Lamborghini says the project marks the return of the Tricolore name 15 years after the Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore appeared in 2011, linking one of the brand’s newer electrified models with a familiar piece of its past.
The exterior treatment is where the Temerario Tricolore really stands apart. Lamborghini Centro Stile combined Blu Marinus Shiny across the lower portion of the body with Bianco Monocerus over the upper surfaces, then added glossy Nero Noctis accents to the mirrors, wheels, engine cover and rear sections. Rosso brake calipers provide another splash of color, while a green, white and red graphic on the hood makes the Italian connection obvious without overwhelming the rest of the design. It is a bold combination, but on a Lamborghini, subtlety has never exactly been the main objective.
The cabin receives the same level of attention through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Nero Ade upholstery is paired with Rosso Alala contrast stitching, while Tricolore lettering appears on the door panels and a custom silhouette of the Temerario is worked into the rear cabin trim. According to Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the car is meant to demonstrate how customers can use Ad Personam to go well beyond simply choosing paint and upholstery, turning the personalization process into a more complete design exercise.
Underneath all of those bespoke details, the Temerario Tricolore retains the formidable hybrid powertrain found in the standard Temerario. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 works with three electric motors to produce 920 CV, or about 907 horsepower. The combustion engine can spin to an eye-opening 10,000 rpm, while Lamborghini quotes a 0-to-62-mph time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 343 km/h, or roughly 213 mph. In other words, the Tricolore treatment may be focused on craftsmanship and visual identity, but it is still attached to one of the most technically ambitious cars Lamborghini has ever built.
What makes the Temerario Tricolore interesting is that it feels less like a simple special-edition paint package and more like a showcase for where Lamborghini wants personalization to go next. The company has been steadily expanding Ad Personam into something closer to a collaborative creative process, and this car makes that direction especially clear. With its unmistakably Italian color scheme, hand-finished interior details and 907-horsepower hybrid drivetrain, the Temerario Tricolore manages to celebrate Lamborghini’s heritage while still looking firmly planted in the brand’s electrified future.
