The 2027 Nissan Z wears refreshed styling that gives the sports coupe a front end that evokes the original 240Z. The company is now announcing pricing for the updated model. Accompanying a variety of aesthetic and hardware changes, the starting cost is a few thousand dollars more than last year. Here’s how it all breaks down, and what you get for your cash.

The 2027 Z in the base Sport trim starts at $44,480 (plus a $1,245 destination fee), and they begin arriving at dealers this summer. Like with previous model years, the price is the same whether a buyer orders a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission. For comparison, the 2026 Z Sport began at $42,970 (before a $1,295 destination fee), meaning the cost has crept up $1,510 year over year for the sporty coupe. According to an earlier report, production might be limited for the 2027 models.

The Toyota GR Supra is the closest competitor to the Z. While it is now out of production, there are still 2026 models available at dealers. The 2026 Supra started at $58,300, and the most expensive version was the MkV Final Edition for $69,350.
Improvements For The 2027 Nissan Z

Buyers at least get some new features to justify the higher price for the 2027 Z. The Sport and Performance trims get the revised front fascia, with a body-color bar in the grille. The stylized “Z” replaces the normal Nissan logo on the nose. The Performance grade has larger-diameter shock absorbers and new forged 19-inch wheels with black spokes and a machined finish around the rim. All models have a redesigned fuel tank that better maintains fuel delivery during extended lateral g-force, like the car might experience on the track.
Aesthetically, the 2027 model has Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic available in the exterior color palette. It takes inspiration from a shade available on the 240Z. There’s also a new tan interior upholstery option on the Performance trim.
The Z Nismo is finally getting a six-speed manual gearbox option after previously only offering the nine-speed automatic. Compared to the version in the Sport and Performance trims, the hotter model has an upgraded clutch and a short shifter. The improvements should make the most of revving the Nismo’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, which makes 420 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. The 2027 Nismo also gets new two-piece, iron-aluminum brake rotors, derived from the ones on the defunct GT-R, that reduce unsprung weight by 19 pounds.
The Performance and Nismo grades are available with a new 15-watt wireless device charger that’s faster, more consistent, and supports a wider range of devices than before. A cooling fan and magnetic alignment help the system perform better.

There aren’t many reasonably affordable sports coupes left on the market, which makes the updated 2027 Z so exciting. At least to us, the combination of the new green paint, 240Z-inspired nose, and tan interior is particularly attractive, and among the best-looking takes on the Z available in years. Meanwhile, we’re particularly looking forward to driving the updated Nismo because the six-speed manual and lighter brakes could combine to make it a thrilling machine to control.
