Supercharged V8s are a lot of fun, of course, but that hasn’t saved them from slowly going the way of the dodo. While Americans can largely ignore emissions regulations for a couple more years, the rest of the world isn’t doing the same. Foreign automakers have figured out that a modern turbocharged V8 gives you the same great boost without the parasitic loss and extra fuel burn of constantly turning a supercharger. Jaguar and Land Rover were the last two to let them go in the Defender and F-Pace SVR, leaving only four American brands that offer a blower in 2026. Let’s go through the remaining options.

While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, Jaguar F-Pace SVR, and Land Rover Defender V8 all have 2026 model years, none are available to order anymore. Staying true to our title, this disqualifies them. But if you aren’t hung up on ordering one, you may be able to hunt down one of those in a dealer’s remaining stock. All prices listed include destination fees.

    Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC

    Engine

    5.2-liter Supercharged V8

    Horsepower

    795 hp

    Torque

    660 lb-ft

    Starting price

    $108,485

While most of the others on this list have been around a while, the Dark Horse SC is brand new on the scene, with deliveries starting very soon. The formula is pretty close to the old Shelby GT500, featuring a slightly enhanced version of the same awesome 5.2-liter “Predator” supercharged V8. It’s a great-sounding engine, but don’t expect much supercharger whine. You could barely hear it in the GT500 due to the roots-style supercharger it used versus the whiny twin-screw superchargers in the Hellcats, and that hasn’t changed for the Dark Horse SC.

One thing that the Hellcats could never match, though, is giving you that supercharger in a convertible, which Ford is now offering again for the first time from the factory since the 2014 GT500. That one isn’t coming until 2027, but if you want more of a grand-tourer than the hardcore hardtop, the convertible’s suspension is set up for a more street-friendly feel, with the same great powerplant.

    Ford Mustang GTD

    Engine

    5.2-liter Supercharged V8

    Horsepower

    815 hp

    Torque

    664 lb-ft

    Starting price

    ~$325,000

For those who want an even more hardcore and track-ready Mustang and have very deep pockets, the Mustang GTD is also still available to order, but only if Ford likes you and your application enough to let you buy one. The Blue Oval used the same tactic with the GT supercar.

If you are rich enough and cool enough to get one, you’ll be getting your hands on the wildest Mustang ever made. The 815 hp supercharged V8 isn’t even the crazy part. It’s a modified Predator V8 again. The real magic comes from the rear transaxle, which shifts the weight balance to a near-perfect 50/50 setup. There’s also a Multimatic adaptive spool-valve, pushrod-mounted adaptive suspension, a C-pillar-mounted DRS-style active rear wing, and much more. It all adds up to a sub-7-minute time around the Nürburgring, making it one of the fastest front-engined cars ever made, and essentially a GT3 race car for the streets.

    Ford F-150 Raptor R

    Engine

    5.2-liter Supercharged V8

    Horsepower

    720 hp

    Torque

    640 lb-ft

    Starting price

    $114,420

Rounding out the Ford trifecta of supercharged V8s is the polar opposite of the GTD, the F-150 Raptor R. Although it would be a hilarious mess around the Nürburgring, the Raptor R would be happy to race across the desert. While the same Predator supercharged V8 makes a lower 720 hp here, it’s still a wild time. The truck has Fox Dual Live Valve shocks along with beefed-up components for the rest of the suspension, plus massive tires and everything else you’d need for Baja-running.

Even if you don’t plan to tear up the desert, that Baja-ready suspension means you’ve got a soft and comfortable ride on the street, making the Raptor R a great daily driver. Until you need to park this behemoth, that is. And since it’s a truck, you can enjoy that supercharged power whether you’re hauling people, trailers, or whatever fits in the bed. Just make sure you’ve got a healthy fuel budget if you plan to drive it a lot. It does just 12 MPG combined.

    Ram 1500 TRX SRT

    Engine

    6.2-liter Supercharged V8

    Horsepower

    777 hp

    Torque

    680 lb-ft

    Starting price

    $102,790

The Ram 1500 TRX returns to take on the Raptor R again, and it’s back with a vengeance. It one-ups the Ford in just about every way. An extra liter of displacement from its V8, a loud and whiny twin-screw supercharger, and 57 more horsepower and 40 more lb-ft of torque. All for nearly $12,000 less than the Raptor R.

Technically, this one’s a 2027 model, but it’s available to order here in 2026, so it qualifies. What doesn’t qualify is the other good news for Hellcat fans: the 1500 Rumble Bee SRT, which uses the same engine in a street-truck setup. It’s not available to order until early 2027, but when the truck arrives, we’ll have seven supercharged V8s for 2027. How fitting. Thanks, Ram.

Getting back to the TRX, it’s mostly the same as before, just with the slightly tweaked exterior and interior of the 2025+ Ram 1500s, more power, and Bilstein Black Hawk e2 Shocks that are adaptive to help smooth out your landings after launching off of a jump. Like the Raptor, this off-road-ready suspension gives you a luxuriously soft on-road ride, plus plenty of space and capability for whatever your daily drive throws at you. Just budget some extra time into that daily commute for fuel stops, because with the TRX also doing 12 MPG combined, its fuel addiction is its only weakness.

    Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat

    Engine

    6.2-liter Supercharged V8

    Horsepower

    710 hp

    Torque

    645 lb-ft

    Starting price

    $82,585

With all the other vehicles on this list being 6-figure affairs, the Durango SRT Hellcat is the cheapest way to get a supercharged V8 in 2026. And it’s one of only two that lets you bring up to 6 other people while you enjoy that twin-screw supercharger whine. This is also the oldest vehicle on this list, but the Durango continues to sell strongly in all its forms, suggesting an enduring appeal for this “muscle SUV,” and that’s certainly the case for this Hellcat version.

Hellcat fans will keep lining up for Hellcat-equipped models because the engine is great, and few models offer it anymore. Aficionados know it’s only a matter of time before the party’s over and the free-for-all for CAFE emissions regulations comes to an end. Get them while you can.

    Cadillac Escalade-V

    Engine

    6.2-liter Supercharged V8

    Horsepower

    682 hp

    Torque

    653 lb-ft

    Starting price

    $170,895

The last vehicle on this list is the Cadillac Escalade-V. Like the Durango, it allows you to bring along lots of people while you enjoy a (slightly less) powerful supercharged V8. And in the Escalade-V, it’s hilariously available in long-wheelbase ESV form, which means that you’ll have enough cargo space to accommodate all the luggage for those three rows of passengers as well. They’ll all have a great time listening to the awesome bark of this V8, and having this much power in an Escalade is a prime example of how much fun excess can be.

At over double the price of the Dodge, it wraps the badassery in a classy package with loads of luxury and technology. It has a quiet mode for the exhaust so you can fly under the radar and avoid standing out too much when you’re mall-crawling, but that quiet mode isn’t available on start-up, so your next-door neighbors will still hate you for your early-morning and late-night cold-start departures.

Because the Escalade-V is the last vehicle to use this supercharged V8 once the CT5-V Blackwing ends production later this year, the future of the Escalade-V appears uncertain. We hope it sticks around, but if you’re looking to order one of these, we wouldn’t put it off any longer.
