This year is already off to a flying start, and we’ll be updating this Live Blog throughout the weekend with all the action, as it happens.

When I first learned about the Audi Nuvolari, it kind of seemed like the Four Rings was reheating the Lamborghini Temerario’s nachos. The world had already seen (and experienced) the plug-in hybrid, flat-plane-crank V8, so it didn’t really feel like anything but an Audi-chic rebadge of an Italian supercar. How wrong I was to confine it to such a narrow perspective, because the Nuvolari has an identity all its own when viewed in person.

Bugatti may have built its last W16 engine in July, but that won’t stop the company from highlighting the iconic engine layout with an ever-more-enticing series of one-off “Programme Solitaire” cars built from existing chassis. The latest is called the Destrier, a name that comes from the largest and most intimidating horses used in medieval battle, and fittingly, it’s based on Bugatti’s most aggressive W16-powered beast of all – the 1,578-horsepower Bolide.
Only the Programme Solitaire Destrier replaces some of the track-only hypercar’s aggression with something far more graceful. Designed under a “Sculpture of Speed” ethos, the Destrier turns the uncompromising Bolide into something a lot more sensuous and organic – and that doesn’t even consider the gorgeous interior.

The car you see here is the Hennessey Blackbird, and it has the tough job of following up on the bonkers Venom F5 as Hennessey’s second-ever full production car. But it might surprise you to hear that there are no turbos, no electric motors, and no bold record-breaking top speed claims. This one is for the drivers, and it’s about as anti-Venom F5 as you can get.
