    • The right-hand-drive G9L has rolled off the production line at Xpeng’s Guangzhou plant, with the model set to enter 64 countries and regions.
    • Xpeng management said the company will aim to exceed 60,000 monthly sales in the fourth quarter.

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has produced its first batch of right-hand-drive G9L SUVs (sport utility vehicles) at its Guangzhou plant, with shipments to Australia set to begin as the flagship model approaches its overseas delivery debut.

The company announced the milestone on Weibo on Friday, saying the G9L will enter 64 countries and regions worldwide.

The start of right-hand-drive production signals that markets including Australia, the UK and parts of Southeast Asia are within the scope of the G9L’s initial export roll-out.

The G9L is Xpeng’s large 5-seat flagship SUV. It made its global debut in China on August 11, when pre-sales began at a starting price of 259,800 yuan ($38,350).

Xpeng plans to officially launch the G9L and begin deliveries in China in September, though it has yet to announce a launch date.

The model offers battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions, both built on an 800-volt fast-charging platform.

The BEV version offers a range of up to 755 kilometers, while the EREV has a combined CLTC range of 1,602 kilometers.

The G9L joins the 6-seat GX SUV, launched in May, as Xpeng’s second flagship model. The 2 vehicles share core platform technologies.

In China, the G9L competes with models including Li Auto’s (NASDAQ: LI) Li L7 and the Huawei-backed Aito M7.

Development began 3 years ago, with road testing spanning 26 countries and regions and covering more than 6.74 million kilometers, Xpeng previously said. That global validation laid the groundwork for the rapid roll-out of the right-hand-drive version.

Overseas markets have become an important source of growth for Xpeng. The company exported 8,125 vehicles in August, up 169.22% year-on-year but down 16.24% from July’s 9,700, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Exports in the first 8 months of this year totaled 49,424 vehicles, up 99.94% year-on-year and already exceeding the 45,014 exported in all of 2025. They accounted for 20.33% of total deliveries during the period.

Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said on an earnings call in August that Xpeng’s overseas models had an average selling price of more than 40,000 euros.

He expects overseas deliveries of the Mona L03 SUV to begin in the fourth quarter, helping lift the company’s quarterly overseas sales above 40,000 vehicles.

With new models including the G9L and Mona L05 launching, Xpeng will aim to exceed 60,000 monthly sales in the fourth quarter, He said on the call. That would be about 53% above its August deliveries.

    Xpeng G9L starts at a pre-sales price of 259,800 yuan ($38,260), targeting rivals including Li Auto’s Li L7 and Huawei-backed Aito M7.
