The Chinese electric vehicle maker unveiled the 5-seat mid-size SUV on Thursday, further expanding its Mona lineup to support sales growth in the fourth quarter.

The BEV lineup comprises the 535 Max, 635 Max and 635 Ultra SE, priced at 169,800 yuan, 179,800 yuan and 191,800 yuan, respectively.
The EREV lineup includes the 1310 Max and 1310 Ultra SE, priced at 169,800 yuan and 181,800 yuan, respectively, matching the BEV lineup’s entry price.
Customers who reserve the vehicle now can receive benefits including a 3,000 yuan credit toward the purchase price for a 1,000 yuan deposit, Xpeng said. Display vehicles are arriving at stores across China.
The Mona L05 sits above the compact Mona L03 SUV, which launched in July with a starting price of 123,800 yuan and also offers BEV and EREV variants.
The new model measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width and 1,636 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm. It is 220 mm longer than the Mona L03, with a 90 mm longer wheelbase.
The all-electric 535 Max uses a 58.2-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and has a CLTC range of 535 km. Both 635 variants feature a 71.1-kWh battery and a range of 635 km.
Both EREV variants pair a 1.5-liter range extender with a 37.2-kWh battery, offering a CLTC battery-only range of 310 km and a combined range of 1,310 km with a full tank and full charge.
All variants feature a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive powertrain with a maximum output of 183 kW (245 hp), along with standard DCC adaptive dampers to improve ride comfort and handling.
Driver assistance is a key distinction between trim levels. The Max variants use 1 of Xpeng’s in-house Turing AI chips, delivering 750 TOPS of effective computing power and supporting the second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) Lite model.
The Ultra SE variants use 2 Turing AI chips, providing 1,500 TOPS of effective computing power and supporting the full version of the second-generation VLA model.
Inside, all variants come with a 17.3-inch central touchscreen and a 26.8-inch W-HUD head-up display. Xpeng also showcased features including a rear entertainment screen and a zero-gravity front passenger seat.
The Mona L05 is the third model in the Mona lineup, which Xpeng said has delivered more than 350,000 vehicles in the 2 years since its launch.
Pre-sales begin as Xpeng’s monthly deliveries recover, though its year-to-date total remains below the year-earlier level, underscoring the need for more products to drive growth.
Xpeng delivered 41,256 vehicles in September, its highest monthly total this year, up 5.50% from August but down 0.78% from a year earlier, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
