[Updated] Nio breaks single-day battery swap service record, again

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) has consecutively set new daily battery swap service records during the Chinese New Year holiday travel peak.

On February 19 — the third day of the 2026 Chinese Lunar New Year — Nio reached 165,898 daily battery swaps, setting a new all-time high, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced Friday.

This marks the third time in five days that the service has set a new record.

A battery swap station at Xiaoxi Service Area on the G1523 Ningbo-Dongguan Expressway completed 173 swaps on February 19, the highest single-day total.

Two battery swap stations along the G35 Jinan-Guangzhou Expressway each completed 159 swaps.

On February 18, Nio achieved 158,290 battery swaps in a single day, previously the highest daily record.

A Nio battery swap station at Toubao Service Area on the G1523 Ningbo-Dongguan Expressway completed 166 services on February 18, making it the busiest location that day.

A battery swap station at Longhushan Service Area on the G60 Shanghai-Kunming Expressway provided 157 services, ranking as the second-busiest site.

A station at the Gaoqiao Service Area on the G70 Fuzhou-Yinchuan Expressway provided 153 services, ranking third.

February 15-23 marked China’s 2026 Spring Festival holiday period, a peak travel season.

On February 15 — the first day of the 2026 Chinese New Year holiday — Nio delivered 146,649 battery swap services in a single day, its previous record.

To date, Nio operates 3,750 battery swap stations across China, with 1,022 located along expressways, according to its charging map data.

These highway stations connect 550 cities across China.

On February 6, Nio reached a cumulative total of 100 million battery swap services.

William Li reiterated to employees the goal of achieving annual profitability in 2026, following Nio’s alert of its first quarterly profit in the fourth quarter of 2025.
