2026 Honda Prologue
Base MSRP: $39,900
While Honda has earned a reputation throughout the years for making a robust gasoline powertrain and hybrid system that’s loved by the public. The Honda Prologue tells a completely different story. Being the sole electric vehicle that’s in Honda’s model lineup in 2026, the Prologue is surely a breeze of fresh air for this Japanese manufacturer – but with the brand culling some of it’s planned EVs, there’s no telling how long this model will still be around.
The Honda Prologue is the first midsize SUV within Honda’s SUV lineup. This Honda electric SUV is essentially a Chevrolet Blazer EV underneath. But despite sharing its underpinnings with the American EV, the exterior of the Prologue has been completely redesigned by the Honda Design Studio in California to create a clean and modern look that gives this Honda electric SUV a strong brand identity from the first glance.
Electric Range & Performance: Up To Modern Standard

To be able to survive in one of the most competitive segments in 2026, having a sharp-looking exterior is simply not enough for the Prologue. The Prologue is available with two powertrain options, a single-motor FWD and a dual-motor AWD model. Both provide decent performance and range in 2026. The single-motor is the one you want to get if you are looking for maximum range and efficiency, offering a maximum of 220 horsepower, 243 pound-feet of torque, and a whooping 308 miles of range, according to EPA.
For better performance and traction in rough conditions, the dual-motor model with all-wheel drive capability is your best choice. Thanks to an extra electric motor being mounted to the rear axle, the maximum horsepower is now 300 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque. The extra performance and electric motor does have an impact on the efficiency and overall range. As the dual-motor model only has a maximum electric range between 283 and 294 miles, depending on the size of the wheel you choose.
Honda Prologue 2026: Trims And Features

The trim options for the Honda Prologue follow the Honda traditions that we are all used to, and for now we can still configure it on the website. There’s the EX for the starting point, Touring in the middle and the Elite at the top. The entry-level EX provides a solid starting point if you are on a tighter budget, which includes an entire Honda Sensing suite as standard to keep you safe on every journey. The dual-motor powertrain with all-wheel-drive capability is available for an extra $3,000.
The Touring trim is arguably the most balanced model you can get for the Honda Prologue in 2026. On top of the safety features you get standard on the EX trim, a handful of luxury features such as the Bose sound system, leather-trimmed seats and panoramic sunroof are now standard on the Touring. You still get an option between single-motor and dual-motor, leaving you with a choice between performance or efficiency.
The Elite trim is the Prologue in its full form. Now with the dual-motor as standard, the Elite is even better equipped than the Touring, adding features such as 21-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display and surround vision system. It’s worth noting that the standard dual-motor powertrain and bigger 21-inch wheels do sacrifice range and efficiency, which also gives the Elite trim a higher yearly running cost when compared to the other two.

- Touring: $44,200
- Elite: $50,400
2026 Honda Pilot
Base MSRP: $42,395
Ever since its introduction to the market two decades ago, the Honda Pilot has been popular among midsize SUV buyers. It’s got all the features and highlights you would expect from a vehicle in this segment. Generous interior space for seven adults, inoffensive road manners and a solid reputation throughout the years. The Honda Pilot entered its fourth generation in 2023, and the 2026 model year saw Honda introducing a facelifted version that improves the aesthetic and features across the entire lineup.
The updates to the 2026 Honda Pilot include a new front fascia and wheel designs along with upgraded technology inside the cabin and a handful of features being added as standard on the Pilot. The new technology is mainly related to the new infotainment system with 5G Wi-Fi connectivity and a larger screen. Other standard features that are added as for 2026 include a power tailgate, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, roof rails and a post-collision braking system.
“The Pilot boasts a family-friendly interior with plenty of storage area and cupholders, no matter which row you sit in. 2026 brings some highly-requested improvements, mainly in the form of upgraded technology.”

Powertrain & Performance: Traditional V6 Doesn’t Disappoint

In a world where rivals are switching to a more efficient turbocharged four-cylinder engine or even a hybrid powertrain, the Pilot still offers a good-old V6 engine for the entire lineup. This 3.5-liter V6 produces 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque mated to a 10-speed automatic. This power is sent to the front wheels, while all-wheel drive is an option if you require more traction and performance. Honda is currently working on a new hybrid powertrain, which we expect to see on the next generation of Honda Pilot.
Without the assistance of a hybrid system or even a more fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine, we are not expecting to see some crazy fuel mileage from the Honda Pilot. However, considering the fact it can carry seven adults and is powered by a V6 powertrain, the Pilot delivers a decent fuel mileage, with 22 combined mpg on the FWD model, 21 mpg on the AWD and 20 mpg for the Trailsport trim due to its all-terrain tires.

Compared to the Prologue we mentioned earlier, the Honda Pilot has significantly more trims available for the 2026 model year. Starting from the entry-level Sport trim all the way to the Black Edition at the top, there are in total seven trims for you to choose between.
Thanks to the additional standard features of the new facelifted Pilot, even the entry-level Sport trim is well-equipped by modern standards. You get features such as wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, tri-zone climate control, a power tailgate, and adaptive cruise control as standard on the Sport trim. The Trailsport, on the other hand, is for those who love adventure and wilderness, as the model comes standard with all-terrain tires, off-road tuned suspension and underfloor skid plates.
The Black Edition at the top represents the Pilot in its best form. To start with, you get the all-wheel drive system as standard. The exterior is also sharper thanks to 20-in gloss black alloy wheels and black trim accents all around the vehicle. Stepping inside the cabin, you will be greeted by perforated leather-trimmed seats, power panoramic moonroof and front seats that are both heated and ventilated.

2026 Honda Passport
Base MSRP: $44,950
If the Pilot is a three-row SUV that’s designed mainly for family use, the 2026 Honda Passport is a midsize Honda SUV that was designed for the roads outside the pavement. In terms of size and dimension, the Passport sits between the two-row CR-V and the Pilot that has three rows. While it doesn’t have the interior space and flexibility of a three-row SUV, the Passport with its off-road focused performance is the best of both worlds between daily use and outdoor adventure.
The Honda Passport is brand new for the 2026 model year. Entering its fourth generation, this midsize Honda SUV is more rugged than ever. The Passport now offers some impressive off-road performance, which is even more evident on the TrailSport trims. Thanks to a longer wheelbase, there is now more room for both passengers in the rear seats and cargo spaces for your weekly grocery run. The shorter front overhang also gives the new Passport a better approach angle, which comes in handy in off-road conditions.
Powertrain & Performance: V6 For The Wilderness

With the new Honda hybrid still on its way, the Passport is powered by the same 3.5-liter V6 we saw earlier on the Pilot. This naturally aspirated V6 is capable of 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Unlike the Pilot, which is available in both FWD and AWD, the off-road-focused Passport is solely all-wheel drive, giving it maximum traction under any circumstances.
The fuel mileage is similar to the Honda Pilot which shares the same powertrain. The RTL model is good for a combined 21 mpg , while the TrailSport model drops to just 20 mpg due to its bigger all-terrain wheels.

The Honda Passport lineup for the 2026 model year consists of seven different trims for customers to choose between. The RTL is a solid starting point for those who are interested in the Passport. While the trim doesn’t have the off-road features, for a midsize SUV for everyday use, the RTL trim is more than enough to keep you satisfied. As standard, you get all the handy features such as power tailgate, tri-zone climate control, wireless CarPlay and a list of safety features to ensure safety on every journey.
The TrailSport is the most popular and highly demanded trim in the Passport lineup, with close to 80% of buyers opting for this off-road focused trim. Being an off-road-focused trim, the TrailSpirt does have some tricks up its sleeve. To start with, all TrailSport models come standard with all-terrain tires, off-road tuned suspension and steel skid plate. The tuned suspension also gives the TrailSport extra ground clearance, which is essential when going into the wilderness.
There are several TrailSport trims above the standard TrailSport trim. The Blackout and Elite trim both give the TrailSport a sharper exterior look and more premium features as standard while retaining the off-road elements that are essential to the Honda Passport.
