Tekmetric has introduced the Tekmetric Shop Index, a free benchmarking tool designed to help auto repair shop owners measure their performance against top-performing shops across the country or within their own state. Available without requiring an account, the tool provides immediate insight into key metrics that influence shop profitability.
The Shop Index focuses on four critical performance indicators: Average repair order (ARO), car count, parts margin, and effective labour rate. Users enter their own data and instantly receive anonymous comparisons based on information from thousands of shops operating on the Tekmetric platform. Results remain private and are designed to help owners identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
Because Tekmetric supports more than 15,000 repair shops, the company is able to draw on a broad range of real-world operational data. The benchmarking tool allows both Tekmetric customers and non-customers to compare their performance against national averages or filter by state to gain a more localized perspective.
By highlighting the metrics most closely tied to profitability, the Shop Index gives owners a straightforward way to evaluate business performance and make more informed decisions about growth, pricing, and operational efficiency.
