Range Rover revealed the first images of the all-electric GT, a stunning new grand tourer built for the long haul. The interior is even more of a surprise.

Meet the Range Rover GT, a high-tech long-range EV

While Range Rover is gearing up to launch its flagship electric SUV later this year, the British luxury brand announced plans to add a fifth member to its lineup.

Range Rover confirmed on Wednesday that the new GT will be “the most technologically sophisticated Range Rover ever created,” promising it will redefine the grand-touring segment.

Swaying away from the boxy SUVs the brand has built its reputation on, the electric GT sits much lower to the ground with a sporty, coupe-like silhouette.

The meticulous design comes after Range Rover spent the “last few years working obsessively on the fundamentals of the GT formula,” according to Martin Limbert, the brand’s managing director.

“The result is the most car‑like, yet unmistakably capable, Range Rover ever created,” Limbert added, confirming it will be the first all-electric Range Rover to use Jaguar Land Rover’s new EMA platform.

The new EMA platform was initially designed as a dedicated EV architecture, but JLR recently said it plans to release new hybrids on it as well.

Range Rover also previewed the interior, which features a surprisingly minimalist design. “The interior of Range Rover GT is shaped by the same reductive principles that define its exterior proportions: purity, precision and quiet modernity,” Limbert explained.

A single screen now sits at the center with a slim driver display that replaces the traditional instrument cluster.

Surprisingly, there are no physical buttons, which many automakers like Volkswagen have begun to reintroduce into their latest EVs.

Range Rover will reveal more details, including battery specs, later this year, with prototypes now in the final stages of testing.

The GT “will redefine the grand‑touring segment with the ability to deliver beautiful and engaging GT poise, proportions and long‑distance refinement,” according to Limbert.

Range Rover’s flagship electric SUV, based on the MLA platform, will use a 118 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 373 miles (600 km). The GT is expected to use a 100+ kWh battery pack, which could enable close to 500 miles (800 km) of range with its slippery fastback design.

The Range Rover GT will be built at JLR’s Halewood, UK plant. It will initially go on sale as a pure electric vehicle, but Range Rover plans to add a full hybrid variant “later in the lifecycle.”

Production is set to begin in the first half of 2027, following the flagship Range Rover Electric and smaller Sport models.

Prices have to be confirmed, but Range Rover’s flagship EV is expected to start at just under £150,000 ($200,900) in the UK. Positioned below the Velar, the Range Rover GT will likely be over £75,000 ($100,000).

In the US, the electric Range Rover GT is expected to start closer to $90,000 with an EPA range of at least 300 miles on a single charge.

For those who prefer the traditional SUV look, the Range Rover Sport EV will go on sale shortly after the flagship model, offering a more affordable electric option.
