    • Firefly has delivered its 70,000th vehicle, about 15 months after beginning deliveries in late April 2025.
    • The brand delivered 6,946 vehicles in June, its second-highest monthly total on record.

Nio Inc’s (NYSE: NIO) premium compact electric vehicle (EV) brand Firefly has surpassed 70,000 cumulative deliveries, marking a new milestone in Nio’s push into lower-priced segments.

Firefly said on Weibo on Thursday that its 70,000th vehicle had been delivered in Lishui, Zhejiang province. The brand began its first deliveries on April 29, 2025, taking about 15 months to reach the milestone.

The milestone came 54 days after Firefly delivered its 60,000th vehicle on May 23. Before that, the brand took 55 days to increase deliveries from 50,000 on March 29 to 60,000.

The nearly identical time required for the 2 consecutive increments of 10,000 vehicles indicates that Firefly has maintained a steady delivery pace recently, rather than relying on a short-term surge in a single month.

Firefly had delivered 68,586 vehicles as of the end of June. That means the brand delivered about 1,414 additional vehicles in the first half of July to cross the 70,000 mark.

Firefly delivered 6,946 vehicles in June, up 76.7% year-on-year and 22.7% from May. It was the brand’s second-highest monthly delivery total, trailing only the 7,084 vehicles delivered in December 2025, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

    Firefly monthly deliveries

    2025

    2026

Firefly accounted for 17.11% of Nio Inc’s total deliveries in June, showing that the brand has become a meaningful part of Nio’s multi-brand sales mix.

The brand delivered 29,172 vehicles in the first half of this year, up 271.9% year-on-year and accounting for 15.26% of Nio Inc’s total deliveries during the period.

Nio Inc delivered 191,123 vehicles during the same period, up 67.4% year-on-year. The Nio main brand delivered 119,488 vehicles, while the Onvo brand delivered 42,463.

Firefly currently has only 1 model on sale. The vehicle is the lowest-priced product in Nio Inc’s portfolio and primarily targets younger consumers and urban commuters.

The Firefly EV currently has a starting price of 119,800 yuan ($17,699) when purchased with the battery, while the higher-trim version starts at 125,800 yuan.

Under the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental plan, the vehicle’s starting price falls to 79,800 yuan, while the higher-trim version starts at 85,800 yuan.

The vehicle measures 4,003 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,615 mm. It uses a single motor with a peak output of 120 kW, while its 42.1-kWh battery pack provides a range of up to 420 kilometers.

In China’s fiercely price-competitive EV market, Firefly gives Nio Inc a product with which to enter the compact-car segment and lower price bands. It also reduces the company’s reliance on SUVs and sedans for sales.

Still, Firefly’s monthly volume remains limited compared with that of the Nio main brand. The key question for its next stage is whether it can turn its recent delivery level of about 6,000 to 7,000 vehicles a month into sustained growth.

Nio’s battery swap network could become an important driver of that growth. Firefly began internal testing at fifth-generation battery swap stations in Shanghai, Beijing, Hefei, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Kunshan on June 25.

Because of its shorter body and wheelbase, the Firefly EV cannot use Nio Inc’s existing fourth-generation battery swap stations. The fifth-generation stations are designed to support vehicles of different sizes from the Nio, Onvo and Firefly brands.

Nio Inc previously said it would begin large-scale deployment of fifth-generation battery swap stations in the third quarter. Once Firefly gains access to the network, the gap in energy-replenishment convenience between the brand and the Nio main brand could narrow.

Firefly is also serving as a spearhead for Nio Inc’s international expansion and has entered more than 10 overseas markets. Its right-hand-drive version was previously displayed at the 2026 Hong Kong Auto Show, preparing the brand to enter additional right-hand-drive markets beyond Thailand and Singapore.

Firefly’s milestone comes as Nio Inc’s overall sales continue to recover. The company delivered 40,597 vehicles in June, its highest monthly total so far this year and an increase of 62.9% year-on-year.

Firefly has started battery swap beta testing at pioneer stations in six cities, paving the way for full access to Nio’s battery swap network.
