Maserati gets serious about EV price wars with $85,000 discounts

While the typical buyers cars like the Maserati GranCabrio or Grecale Folgore EVs may not have to ask what one costs, they do need to know what number to write on the check – and if they ask this month, that number could be a staggering $85,000 LOWER than before. (!)

CarsDirect is reporting a massive $85,000 discount on remaining 2025 model year Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore models, as well as a still impressive $40,000 off electric versions of the excellent Grecale Folgore SUV, all of which amount to more than 40% discount from the Italian luxury cars’ original asking prices and the biggest dollar-amount discount deal on any new car in recent memory.

The new discounts mean that last year’s price premium for the EVs is effectively wiped out, making the choice between gas or electric one of preference, not necessarily price.

Based on our analysis, an electric Grecale is now barely $1,400 more expensive than the gas one. The comparison is based on an MSRP of $121,290 for the EV and $79,895 for the base trim, including destination. Here, shoppers looking to score Maserati’s most affordable model may be pleasantly surprised with the EV upgrade.

For that money, Maserati buyers get the full Palm Royale cruising experience with Stellantis’ finest material appointments and infotainment features that wouldn’t look out of place in a Ferrari, as well as over a century of automotive history worth crowing about at any Cars and Coffees you drive it to in the future.

While I know, intellectually, that it’s the Maserati Grecale Folgore SUV that’s going to lead the sales race, I still struggle to think of brands like Maserati, Ferrari, or even Porsche as manufacturers of credible SUVs. The CranCabrio, though? It’s a stunner, even in that weird 90s Ford Probe pink up there.

And, with more than 800 all-electric horsepower available in MaxBoost mode, it offers stunning performance, as well. That power makes its way to the electric motors from a 92.5 kWh li-ion battery pack good for about 230 miles of EPA-estimated range — but with the top down, cruising along the beaches and feeling the wind in your hair? You’ll get a lot further than that.

You can find out more about Maserati’s killer EV deals below, then let us know what you think of the trident brand’s latest discount dash in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
