The biggest car news and reviews, no BS

Our free daily newsletter sends the stories that really matter directly to you, every weekday.

We weren’t joking. The Drive’s collab with Blipshift, purveyors of our favorite enthusiast-themed merch for many years, is back with a new drop of five hall-of-fame shirts. It’s live right now, patiently (adverb!) waiting for you to check it out. Hope you dig it.

If you know Blipshift, you know the site has had a fantastic catalog of apparel over the years, but the options change every few days. Plus, once a design goes out of print, it doesn’t come back—usually. Because, as part of our partnership, we’re reviving some of our favorites of the past.

In classic Blipshift style, each one will be available in whatever medium you like. It’s going to start getting chillier out there before you know it, so if a t-shirt isn’t in season, how about a long-sleeve or hoodie? Maybe a onesie for the budding enthusiast in your life? Heck, if you’re sufficiently clothed, you can always pick one up as a poster.

For this drop, you have two weeks—from Friday, Sept. 4, until Thursday, Sept. 17—to grab these five designs: Crazy Taxi, Daytonaaa, That’s No Pipe, We Have Luft, and Zipdependence Day. Plus, The Drive retro logo design remains on sale, harkening back to our OG look in those salad days of 2012. (That was longer ago than you think; there were only four Grand Theft Autos back then.) You can always find that one, as well as whatever we’re currently slinging, on our Blipshift store page.

After this drop is through, on Thursday 9/17, the next one will start two weeks after that, on Friday 10/2. That’s how it’ll work for the rest of the year: two weeks on, two weeks off, etc. You never know what’s going to make the cut, so keep your eyes peeled. Here are the dates for the next three drops—before you know it, we’ll be Christmas shopping:

    • 10/2-10/15
    • 10/30-11/12
    • 11/27-12/10

One more thing: these are all made on demand, so production doesn’t begin until after each sale ends, so Blipshift knows how many to make. That means it’ll take a couple of weeks after you place your order before the package lands on your doorstep. But good things take time, y’know?

If you ruined your favorite shirt long ago (as I did with that Daytona tee) and want to score a new one, send your requests for revivals to feedback@thedrive.com. It just might show up in the next drop. Or let us know if you’ve got any great ideas for entirely new designs. We take requests!

Backed by a decade of covering cars and consumer tech, Adam Ismail is a Senior Editor at The Drive, focused on curating and producing the site’s slate of daily stories.
