    • The new-generation Li Mega comes only in the Home version, priced at 509,800 yuan ($75,160), 50,000 yuan less than the previous Home version.
    • The vehicle adds 4 LiDAR sensors and rear-wheel steering, offers a CLTC range of 710 km, and is set to get a right-hand-drive version by year-end.

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) launched the new-generation Li Mega on Wednesday, offering a lower price and substantial hardware upgrades to revive demand for its flagship battery electric MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).

The vehicle comes only in the Li Mega Home version, with a nationwide retail price of 509,800 yuan ($75,160) in China. Deliveries will begin this week.

The price is 20,000 yuan lower than the Mega Ultra launched in April 2025 and 50,000 yuan below the Mega Home offered at the time.

Existing Li Auto owners who purchase the vehicle can receive 270-degree electrically dimmable glass worth 15,000 yuan for free. Customers who place orders now can also receive gray-and-white two-tone disc-style wheels and other features.

Li Auto also plans to launch a right-hand-drive version of the Li Mega by year-end, targeting Hong Kong, Macau and other overseas right-hand-drive markets.

The vehicle retains its streamlined design resembling the nose of a Chinese high-speed train, while receiving changes to the front and rear fascias, tailgate and lighting.

New features include semi-hidden door handles, crystal-effect trim and a smart tri-color star-ring light.

The Li Mega measures 5,355 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width and 1,850 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,300 mm. It retains a 7-seat 2/2/3 layout and has a drag coefficient of 0.215.

Its powertrain comprises front and rear electric motors producing a combined 413 kW (554 hp) and 657 Nm of peak torque. The MPV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

The vehicle uses a 108-kWh ternary lithium-ion battery supporting a 5C charging rate and offers a CLTC range of 710 km. Its peak charging power exceeds 520 kW, allowing it to add 500 km of range in 10 minutes.

The chassis is another focus of the update. The vehicle adds an 800-volt active anti-roll system, dual-chamber air springs, dual-valve CDC dampers, steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering.

The rear wheels can turn by up to 7 degrees in either direction, reducing the turning radius of the MPV, which is more than 5.3 meters long, to 5.5 meters.

Its driver-assistance hardware includes 4 LiDAR sensors and 2 Mach M100 chips developed in-house by Li Auto, delivering combined computing power of 2,560 TOPS.

The new-generation Mach VLA model can be used on highways and urban roads across China.

The cabin is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chip. It features a 29-inch OLED 6K panoramic display in the front and a movable 21-inch OLED 4K screen in the rear.

The front and second-row seats are all zero-gravity seats, with the second-row seats able to rotate to create a face-to-face layout. The third-row seats add ventilation and heating, while the vehicle comes with a 33-speaker audio system.

The rear ceiling features a Home Light comprising 396 LEDs. A floating table can switch among full dining table, side table and half-table configurations.

Before the new-generation Li Mega’s launch, Li Auto founder, chairman and CEO Li Xiang said the spacious cabins and easy access offered by MPVs would become increasingly important as L3 and L4 autonomous driving advances.

He described the MPV market as approaching an inflection point “from Nokia to iPhone,” saying new technologies would address the handling and ride-comfort shortcomings of traditional MPVs.

The immediate challenge for the update remains restoring consumer demand. Li Mega deliveries totaled just 336 units in July, down 88.1% year-on-year.

The model delivered 3,179 units from January through July, down 63.1% year-on-year and accounting for just 1.4% of Li Auto’s total deliveries during the period, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Li Mega monthly deliveries reached a record 3,277 units in September 2025, but a subsequent fire and a recall involving 11,411 vehicles interrupted its sales momentum.

Monthly Li Mega deliveries have remained below 1,000 units since November 2025. Whether the lower price, stronger driver-assistance hardware and cabin upgrades can reverse that trend will be a key test for the new model.

Li Auto delivered 37,679 vehicles in August, marking its highest year-on-year growth rate in two years.
