The Lamborghini Urus didn’t save the Italian brand, but the performance SUV undoubtedly helped give the company a solid foundation for continuing to develop world-class supercars. Since the model’s launch, the Urus has helped Lambo sell more vehicles around the world, including setting a new annual delivery record of 10,747 vehicles in 2025.

Now, Lamborghini is providing the first teaser of something new for the Urus. As the company describes it, “a new chapter is taking shape.” While Lambo isn’t giving us any details about the machine yet, we don’t have long at all to wait. This new iteration of the Urus premieres July 1.
Dialing The Performance SUV Up To 11
Lamborghini isn’t revealing any technical details about what is changing about the Urus yet, and there’s only one teaser image at the moment. The picture reveals a blocky, black spoiler on top of the roof and a separate spoiler on the hatchback just above the taillights. From this angle, the rest of the SUV otherwise looks the same as the existing Urus SE, with arrow-shaped rear lamps and eye-catching lime green paint.
A Meaner Urus

Spy shots from 2025 may give us a much better look at what Lamborghini is planning. The model is the successor to the extra sporty Urus Performante, which is no longer part of the model lineup. The vehicle features an aggressive front fascia that mixes thick horizontal bars with thinner uprights supporting them. Triangular inlets are in each corner, and there’s a rectangular inlet in the lower fascia.
This particular prototype doesn’t have the chunky roof spoiler seen on the Urus in the new teaser, but it does wear the element above the taillights. The development vehicle also wears wheels with prominent, Y-shaped spokes and bold green brake calipers.

Lamborghini Urus Performante Could Return With A Hybrid Twist
Lamborghini’s reborn and more powerful Urus Performante is turning hot laps on the ‘Ring and getting ready to turn heads.
The yellow decal on the hood of this Urus indicates that it has a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The latest Urus SE packs a hybrid setup and a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 making a total of 789 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. Rumors suggest the more-potent Urus could make over 800 horsepower and would be capable of a top speed over 200 miles per hour. The model might adopt Superveloce (SV) branding that the company uses for its more extreme offerings.

While we wish Lamborghini would show a little more of this Urus ahead of the debut, the company is at least keeping the teaser campaign blissfully brief. We only have to wait a few days to find out how Lambo intends to build an even better performance SUV.

Lamborghini’s SUV Now Costs Less Than A Cadillac Escalade-V
Blazing fast, lavish, and impossible to ignore, Lamborghini’s Urus thrills and is now edging into mainstream performance SUV pricing.
Since the Urus Performante’s retirement, Lambo hasn’t had a sporty trim of the SUV. While certainly aimed at a very small, affluent segment of buyers, SUVs still sell like crazy and having a new flagship can have a halo effect not just for Lamborghini, but other brands within the VW Group umbrella. The SE model’s 789 hp makes the base model one of the most powerful machines in its class. Still, there are customers who want more, and Lambo is happy to give it to them – at a price.
