Cadillac has already confirmed a next generation CT5, even as today’s CT4 and CT5 sunset after the 2026 model year. Now a fresh report hints the story will not end with one sedan. Citing unnamed sources, GM Authority says General Motors is developing multiple models on a new Alpha 2-2 platform that will sit beneath the new CT5 and at least one more U.S. market passenger car.

If accurate, that points to another rear wheel drive based entry joining the lineup. The Lansing Grand River plant, home to CT4 and CT5 today, would benefit from the added volume as those cars wind down. Which badge gets the nod is the big question. Buick feels unlikely for a performance focused RWD or AWD product, leaving Chevrolet or Cadillac as the prime candidates.

There is precedent. The outgoing Alpha architecture served everything from the sixth generation Camaro to Cadillac’s CT4 and CT5, proving it can scale from attainable performance to refined luxury. That flexibility opens the door to several possibilities, including a new Chevrolet sedan, a true Camaro revival, or even a two door Cadillac grand tourer.

Timing could come into focus soon. With the current CT5 ending after 2026 and its successor already greenlit, the first Alpha 2-2 reveal should not be far behind. If a second Alpha based car is real, we may hear about it shortly after the new CT5 steps into the spotlight.
