The greatest part of any Lamborghini reveal is knowing that there will be even faster, hardcore versions of the new car coming down the pipeline. The Revuelto, Lamborghini’s V12 PHEV, is no different. While Ferrari is making a big deal out of its first (and highly controversial) electric car, team Lambo is out thrashing a gas-burning hypercar with over 1,000 horsepower.
And the CarBuzz spy photographers just caught the latest Revuelto SV testing hard at the Nürburgring in Germany. Let’s zoom in on what should be the hardcore Revuelto SV.
Completely New Bumper Design Moves Air In A Very Different Way

We’ll start up front, where this prototype has a brand-new bumper. Strangely for a faster car, it seems to have smaller grille openings, not larger ones, but the corner inlets are now bisected by a massive body element. It’s possible that they’re actually aero elements, because the two slats are so prominent.
The new slats clearly channel air around the front of the car and around the front wheel arches. From there, it’s tough to spot any massive differences versus the standard Revuelto along the side.
This Lamborghini has more substantial changes at the rear though, beginning with the new wing. While the standard Revuelto has an active-design wing that pops out of the rear, the SV has a tall and aggressive fixed design. It is adjustable on this prototype, but those pieces don’t look like they’ll be bound for production.
On each side of the car, there is a new rear vent. They exit just above the taillights, helping to pull air out of the engine bay and rear arches. Surprisingly, the rear diffuser is not new. The standard Revuelto already has those massive vertical pieces, meant to help with straight-line stability and manage airflow from under the car. There is a new wheel design, but the brake rotors and calipers inside those wheels seem to be the same as the standard car.
SV Has A Long History At Sant’Agata

At Lamborghini, SV stands for SuperVeloce. It’s the name the company uses for the more extreme versions of its cars. The name has a long history of bringing with it more horsepower, less weight, and much sharper suspension and aero tuning. The SV model usually arrives a couple of years after the original, and is a way to help Lamborghini keep its lineup fresh… and making headlines.
The standard Revuelto gets a 6.5-liter V12 making 814 horsepower (hp). Electric motors give the car all-wheel drive and bring power to 1,001 hp, with a combined 535 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to mostly carbon construction, the Revuelto weighs around 3,900 pounds despite the 3.8 kWh PHEV battery pack.
With such impressive numbers already, Lamborghini could increase power to 1,065 hp, the amount the same drivetrain makes in the low-volume Fenomeno sports car. We’ve also heard rumors it could make far more – enough to out-gun the 1,250-hp Corvette ZR1X, for example.
Trimming more pounds from the car might be tough, but figuring out how to sell gram-shaving carbon fiber parts for filthy sums of money is what companies like Lamborghini do best.

It’s a faster, lighter, more evocatively-named Lamborghini. It’s the kind of car that needs to inspire a micro-generation of enthusiasts posturing in Miami Beach, and a younger group who will have it plastered on their walls. This car looks ready to be that car.
