Eccentrica, the restomod house based in the Republic of San Marino, has unveiled its second creation: the V12 Roadster, an open-air reimagining of the first-series Lamborghini Diablo. The car makes its public debut on August 14, 2026, at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in Carmel — and with only 19 examples planned, most of the world will never get closer to one than a photograph.

Built around a re-engineered 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 producing 550 horsepower, a six-speed gated manual, and a body reconstructed entirely in carbon fiber, the V12 Roadster is less a restoration than a complete reinvention. It is, in the words of founder Emanuel Colombini, “more exposed, more immediate, more demanding. No roof. No filter. Nothing between you and the machine.”

The Engineering Team Behind The Rebuild

    Eccentrica

Eccentrica was founded by Emanuel Colombini, an entrepreneur and Lamborghini collector who set out to take the first-series Diablo apart and rebuild it without compromise. The technical program is led by Maurizio Reggiani, the former Chief Technical Officer of Lamborghini and the engineer behind the Murciélago, Gallardo, Aventador, and Huracán. That pedigree matters here: this is not a cosmetic refresh or a reskinned donor car, but a ground-up reconstruction developed with more than 3,500 bespoke components per vehicle.

The V12 Roadster was created in partnership with Milan-based design studio Borromeo De Silva. An aerodynamic study was conducted specifically around the open-cabin configuration, ensuring that removing the roof would sharpen the experience rather than introduce instability. The result is a car with a widened track and recalibrated proportions that reinforce the Diablo’s original silhouette while giving it a more planted, purposeful stance.

A 550-HP V12, A Gated Manual, And Three Driving Modes

    Eccentrica

The heart of the V12 Roadster is a re-engineered version of the Diablo’s original 5.7-liter 60-degree naturally aspirated V12. Through ECU recalibration, improved thermal management, and optimized airflow efficiency, Eccentrica’s team has brought output to 550 hp at 7,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm — numbers that preserve the engine’s analog character while adding a level of precision the original never had.

Performance figures back that up. The Roadster reaches 100 kph from rest in 3.8 seconds and tops out at 208 mph. The six-speed close-ratio gated manual is central to the driving philosophy, and three distinct driving modes allow the car to be configured for different road conditions. Braking is handled by a Brembo system with 380 mm rotors up front and 345 mm at the rear, and the suspension runs double wishbones at both ends with a custom semi-active damper setup. Hydraulic steering keeps direct road feel in the driver’s hands. Curb weight sits at 3,395 pounds, with a rear-biased 41/59 weight distribution. Tires are Pirelli Trofeo RS — 255/30 R19 front, 325/30 R19 rear.

Carbon Fiber, Connolly Leather, And 19 Owners

The body structure is a steel space frame reinforced with carbon fiber, and the bodywork itself is a full carbon fiber reconstruction. Inside, Connolly leather, Alcantara, anodized materials, and exposed carbon fiber define a cockpit shaped as much by touch as by appearance. Every car is individually configured through a bespoke tailoring process with its owner — no two will be identical.

That process will play out exactly 19 times. Nineteen is the total production run for the V12 Roadster, making it one of the rarest bespoke builds in the current restomod landscape. For context, Eccentrica’s first model — the coupe-bodied V12 — was already a limited proposition; the Roadster takes the exclusivity further still. Pricing has not been disclosed in the press materials, but buyers at this level of bespoke construction are not typically shopping on sticker price.

The V12 Roadster’s public debut at The Quail on August 14 marks the first time the car will be seen in person outside Eccentrica’s San Marino workshops. For the 19 buyers who secure one, it represents something the original Diablo’s designers could only imagine: a first-series icon rebuilt from scratch, stripped of its roof, and handed back with modern precision underneath every panel.
