    • The Denza Z comes in three variants and will open for pre-orders in the UK in October, with the earliest deliveries expected by year-end.
    • In China, the Denza Z will open for pre-orders on July 13 and officially go on sale in the fourth quarter.

The Denza Z, the first all-electric two-door supercar from BYD’s (HKEX: 1211) premium brand Denza, made its debut on Thursday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, becoming the first Chinese electric supercar to land in the European market.

The Denza Z comes in three variants: the hardtop Coupe priced at £142,900 ($191,310), the soft-top Spider convertible at £159,900, and the track-focused Racing version at £172,900.

The car will open for pre-orders in the UK in October, with the earliest deliveries expected by year-end.

In China, the Denza Z will open for pre-orders on July 13 and officially go on sale in the fourth quarter.

The Denza Z is powered by a tri-motor system consisting of one front motor and two rear motors, with peak outputs of 500 kW, 340 kW, and 340 kW respectively, for a total system peak output of 1,180 kW (1,582 hp).

The Racing version is the most powerful, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 1.96 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h.

The Coupe and Spider variants accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 2.25 seconds and 2.3 seconds respectively, both with a top speed of 300 km/h.

The Denza Z is equipped with China’s first fully in-house developed steer-by-wire system, eliminating the mechanical connection in the steering system.

The car also features the industry’s first DiSus-M intelligent magnetorheological body control system dedicated to new energy vehicles (NEVs), with a damping force buildup time of less than 10 milliseconds.

As the first sports car to feature BYD’s e3 technology, the Denza Z achieves independent drive from three motors and independent steering from the two rear-wheel motors.

The car is fitted with a second-generation Blade Battery based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, offering 76 kWh of usable capacity and a range of 254 miles (409 kilometers) in the hardtop version.

The Denza Z was designed by renowned automotive designer Wolfgang Egger, whose signature works include the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.

With a body length of under 4.8 meters, it is the smallest model in Denza’s lineup.

Denza said the Denza Z has begun a lap-time program at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany.

The current lap record at the Nürburgring for an all-electric production car stands at 6 minutes 59.157 seconds, set by the Yangwang U9 Xtreme, another BYD-owned model.

The Denza Z marks a key step in the Denza brand’s expansion into the high-performance sports car market. Once launched, it is expected to compete with models such as the Porsche 911 and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in the high-performance segment.

Denza N8L flash-charging edition is officially priced from 319,800 yuan ($47,210), below the previously announced pre-sales price.

    ($1 = 0.7469 British pounds)
