Dayco has introduced a five-year, 60,000-mile warranty for its light-duty serpentine belt kits as the company continues to expand its coverage in the automotive aftermarket.
The new warranty applies to kits containing the components needed for a front-end accessory drive system repair, including belts, tensioners and pulleys. Dayco said packaging the components together is intended to simplify installation and reduce the potential for repeat repairs caused by worn components.
“We understand how important it is to help our customers stand behind their work. This added level of protection is our way of backing the quality and craftmanship we put into each one of our kits – so distributors and shops have greater confidence in every repair decision they make,” said Jerry Reeves, head of product management, Dayco North America.
The warranty is the latest addition to Dayco’s coverage for its kit products. Its timing chain kits carry a two-year, 60,000-mile parts and labour warranty, while its timing belt water pump kits have a 125,000-mile extended warranty.
Dayco has also expanded its kit coverage over the past two years. Serpentine belt kit coverage increased from 50 per cent to 75 per cent of total vehicles in operation during that period.
Timing chain kit coverage has increased 65 per cent since Dayco launched the line in 2022.
The company said its complete-system approach is intended to replace critical wear components at the same time while simplifying ordering and installation for distributors and repair shops.
