Of all the Chevy SUVs, the smallest and cheapest is the Trax. Not only is it the least expensive model in Chevy’s lineup, the Trax is one of the cheapest new cars on sale in general. There aren’t many cars left under $25k, but this brand manages to sell two of them.
Powering all trim levels of the Trax is a 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-3-cylinder that makes 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. They all get 6-speed automatic transmissions and front-wheel drive. It’s a small Chevy SUV, but still somewhat practical; with 54.1 cubic feet of cargo area, it beats the Nissan Kicks and others in its class.

Another Chevy small SUV is the Trailblazer, which competes with many of the same models as the Trax. While the Trailblazer name was once used for a larger three-row model with an SS trim that could compete with the Grand Cherokee SRT8, it’s now used to denote a subcompact crossover. It rivals the Kia Seltos and Mazda CX-30, for reference. There are four trims available this year, with the cheapest being the LS at $23,300. Under the hood is the same 1.2-liter turbo inline-3 with the same outputs as the Trax, but buyers can upgrade to a 1.3-liter turbo inline-3 that makes 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque.

After being discontinued in 2023, the Chevrolet Bolt returns for the 2027 model year. We list it here, since it’s planned to go on sale during 2026. Even though Chevy SUV models dominate the brand’s lineup, there aren’t many electric models to choose from. We’re happy to see the Bolt return as a competitor in the affordable EV segment, since most are so expensive. Only two trims will be available; the LT starts at $28,595, and the RS starts at $31,600. Both get a single motor mounted to the front axle that makes 210 horsepower and a 65 kWh battery capable of accepting 150 kWh DC fast charging.

Chevrolet SUV models start to get larger when you spend at least $28,800 for the Equinox. This midsize Chevy crossover competes with rivals like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, so it has to be good if it wants to keep up. Whether it beats them in terms of actual driving experience is up to the buyer, but it’s a relatively good competitor on paper.
It’s powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can choose between an 8-speed automatic transmission and a CVT, and either FWD or AWD. We drove one last year, and felt it was quiet and comfortable, but far from sporty.

Chevrolet SUVs continue with an all-electric model of the Equinox EV. It starts far higher than the standard Equinox, with a base price of $34,995, but comes with some more comfort features, more power, and a quicker launch. This EV is available in three trims, and buyers can choose between front- and all-wheel drive; the FWD models have 319 miles of range, while the AWD models get 307 miles on a full charge. It’s still not the sportiest model, but our road tester found it to be quick enough for daily traffic and superbly comfortable.

The Chevy SUV lineup wouldn’t be complete without the Blazer – a midsize SUV that competes with the off-road-focused Toyota Land Cruiser, Mazda CX-70, and some three-row models like the Kia Telluride. It’s competitive in the segment due to its starting price at $35,600, but there are four trims available that range up to the Premiere for $43,000 before destination and options.
Buyers can choose either a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 308 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. Both engines can be optioned with either FWD or AWD.

The Chevrolet Traverse is a midsize SUV that starts at $40,800 for the LT base trim level. It competes with models like the Kia Telluride and Mazda CX-90, and is the first Chevrolet model on this list to feature three ros of seating for a maximum occupancy of 8 people when properly configured. Since we’re approaching the larger Chevy SUV models, it’s good to know that the Traverse is also capable of towing up to 5,000 pounds, which puts it on level ground with the Honda Pilot. Under the hood is a 2.5-liter turbo inline-4 that makes 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. It’s also available in the Z71 trim, which gets a handful of off-road upgrades.

Chevrolet hasn’t called it quits yet on making electric cars, so for at least $44,600, you can get your hands on the Blazer EV. It’s a two-row SUV that competes with rivals like the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y, and Kia EV6. All are great options, and the Blazer has to work hard to stand out.
We think it makes a good name for itself by the time you reach its SS trim level for $60,600, since it gets 615 horsepower and can sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds. No matter which trim you choose though, the Blazer EV is a comfortable and practical family car with reasonable range.

For the biggest families, the huge cargo space, and the best off-road capability, choose the Chevy Tahoe. It’s not quite the largest model in Chevrolet’s lineup, but this SUV is still spacious enough to fit up to nine people inside when properly configured at its base trim level – in fact, choosing the nine-seat option deducts $500 from the price tag.
If you don’t have a group to haul around every day, the higher trim levels are more than enough to keep everybody happy with great comfort features and tons of legroom. The standard 5.3-liter V8 makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, but upgrading to the 6.2L V8 nets 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. Buyers can also choose a 3.0L turbo-diesel I6 with 305 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.

The largest and most expensive Chevrolet SUV on sale this year is the Suburban. It carries on the tradition of fitting truck capabilities in a family hauler that seats up to nine people. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 8,200 pounds. Full-size SUVs like this one are somewhat common these days, with rivals like the Toyota Sequoia, Ford Expedition, and Jeep Wagoneer.
Buyers can choose among six trims, with the LS kicking off the lineup and the High Country topping it off at a starting price of $81,700. All three of the Tahoe’s engines are available in this larger unit as well, and they all make the same amount of power.
