- Denza N8L flash-charging edition pre-sales start at 350,000 yuan, featuring BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and ultra-fast flash charging technology.
- Showroom cars for the model have arrived at 450 Denza stores across China.
Denza, the premium brand under BYD (HKEX: 1211), will launch the flash charging edition of the Denza N8L on June 23, with an event starting at 7:30 pm Beijing Time.
The BYD sub-brand announced the arrangement on Weibo on Monday. The roll-out of the updated large six-seat safe and luxury SUV signals BYD’s deepening push into the premium market.
The model previously opened for pre-sales on April 10, with a pre-sales price range of 350,000 yuan ($51,780) to 400,000 yuan. Customers who place orders during the pre-sales period will enjoy up to 18 months of free flash charging benefits.
In early June, showroom models of the Denza N8L flash-charging edition arrived at 450 Denza stores across 174 cities, including core tier-one markets such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
One of the main selling points of the Denza N8L flash-charging edition is its integration of BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and ultra-fast flash charging technology.
The plug-in hybrid model is equipped with a 75.26-kilowatt-hour battery pack, offering a battery range of up to 430 kilometers.
Official data shows the vehicle can charge from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes, while charging from 10% to 70% takes only 5 minutes. Even in extreme cold environments of minus 30 degrees Celsius, the charging time only increases by 3 minutes.
The new model is powered by a 2.0T hybrid system, with a 0 to 100 kilometers per hour acceleration time of just over 3 seconds. It is also equipped with the DiSus-A body control system.
The Denza N8L flash-charging edition features a new-generation AI smart cockpit, achieving an upgraded interactive experience.
The system’s voice assistant integrates the DeepSeek large language model, supporting complex operations such as in-car payments, dialect recognition, and shortcut commands.
In addition, the model is equipped with the God’s Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance system, further enhancing the vehicle’s active safety performance and driving convenience.
The Denza brand has accelerated its pace of product updates this year to cope with increasingly fierce market competition. Last month, the brand launched the flash charging edition of its flagship SUV model, the N9, with a starting price of 409,800 yuan.
Denza sold 16,303 vehicles in May, up 3.14% year-on-year and 44.92% from April, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
In the January-May period, Denza sold 46,189 vehicles, down 27.88% year-on-year.
